An amusement park is a park that features various attractions, such as rides and games, and events for entertainment purposes. A theme park is a type of amusement park that bases its structures and attractions around a central theme, often featuring multiple areas with different themes. Unlike temporary and mobile Travelling funfair, funfairs and traveling carnival, carnivals, amusement parks are stationary and built for long-lasting operation. They are more elaborate than Urban park, city parks and playgrounds, usually providing attractions that cater to a variety of age groups. Lai Chi Kok
Lai Chi Kok is a neighbourhood in Kowloon, Hong Kong, east of Kwai Chung and west of Cheung Sha Wan. Mei Foo Sun Chuen is the largest housing estate in the area and also the largest in Hong Kong with 99 blocks. Administratively, it belongs to Sham Shui Po District. History ''Xin an county gazette'' (), published in AD 1819, did not have any description of Lai chi kok, therefore, we did not have detail information of earlier history of the region. Lai Chi Kok literally means "lychee corner", referring to a seashore named after a type of fruit tree native to southern China. However, some historians such as Leung Ping Wah suggested the original name of the region was Lai Tsai Kuok (), literally mean the footprint of the youngest son. Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park
Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park was an amusement park on the west shore of Lai Chi Kok Bay in Lai Chi Kok, Hong Kong. It was once the largest amusement park in Hong Kong, and attracted people from all walks of life in the territory. History Operation The park was originally opened by businessman Cheung Kwan On on 16 April 1949. In 1961, Deacon Chiu purchased the park and started improving it. In 1976, the park started losing business to Ocean Park Hong Kong, Ocean Park. In 1995, the Ferris wheel was temporarily closed because engineers were dissatisfied with its condition. The admission fee started at 60 HK cents for both adult and child admission, but by 1997 it had risen to Hong Kong dollar, HK$12–$25. Changping District
Changping District (), formerly Changping County (), is a district situated in the suburbs of north and northwest Beijing. Changping has a population of 2,269,487 as of November 2020, making it the most populous suburban district of Beijing. Wonderland Amusement Park (Beijing)
Wonderland was an unfinished amusement park project located in Chenzhuang Village (), Nankou Town (), Changping District, Beijing, China. Originally proposed by the Thailand-based property developer Reignwood Group, and designed to be the largest amusement park in Asia (to have covered ), construction stopped in 1998 following financial problems with local officials, while a 2008 attempt to start construction again also failed. The site featured a number of abandoned structures, including the framework of a castle-like building and medieval-themed outer buildings. Land was reclaimed by local farmers to grow their various crops while the site was abandoned. People have reported when visiting the site that, sometimes, there would still be parking attendants in the site's parking lot, presumably to tend to onlookers and curious sightseers that came to visit. Minsk World
Minsk World () was a military theme park located in Dapeng Bay, Shatoujiao, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. It included the former Soviet (later Russian) aircraft carrier ''Minsk'', redesigned as a tourist attraction. The theme park opened on 10 May 2000. As of 2005, it had attracted more than five million visitors and generated 450 million yuan in revenue. The park closed in February 2016 and the aircraft carrier was moved to Zhoushan for repairs, after which it would be moved to another theme park in Nantong, Jiangsu.
