Stan Boardman
Stanley Boardman (born 7 December 1937) is an English comedian. Early life and career Boardman was evacuated with his family to Wrexham during the Second World War, and after the family returned to their Merseyside home mistakenly thinking the area had escaped the German bombs, his elder brother Tommy was killed in a bombing raid. Boardman had been a keen footballer in his youth and was an apprentice at Liverpool F.C. He signed for Tranmere Rovers as a teenager. Boardman ran a haulage firm before winning a holiday camp talent contest and breaking into television on '' Opportunity Knocks'' and '' The Comedians''. Boardman became known for his anti-German jokes, with his claim that "the Germans bombed our chippy" during the Second World War. His later involvement in football includes being invited by Ron Atkinson to entertain his Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa players before the League Cup finals in 1991 and 1994. New Brighton is a seaside resort and suburb of Wallasey, in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside, England, at the northeastern tip of the Wirral peninsula. Andrea Vivienne Boardman (born 6 November 1967 in Enfield, Middlesex) is an English television presenter. History In 1985, Boardman represented England in the Miss International 1985 pageant, held in Japan where she reached the semi-finals. Boardman began presenting when ITV's Disney Club launched in the UK in 1988. She was given the role of female presenter after 2,000 hopefuls applied for the job. ''Wife Swap'' is a British reality television programme that aired on Channel 4 from 7 January 2003 to 15 June 2017. In the programme, two families, usually from different social classes and lifestyles, swap wives/mothers – and sometimes husbands – for two weeks. In fact, the programme will usually deliberately swap wives with dramatically different lifestyles, such as a messy wife swapping with a fastidiously neat one. Despite using a phrase from the swinging lifestyle, couples participating in the show do not share a bed with the "swapped" spouse while "swapping" homes. Peter Kay
Peter John Kay (born 2 July 1973) is an English comedian, actor, writer, and director. Born and raised in Farnworth, Kay studied media performance at the University of Salford and later began working part-time as a stand-up comedian. In 1997, Kay won Channel 4's '' So You Think You're Funny'' contest, and the following year, he was nominated for a Perrier Award for his show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With his public profile raised, Kay co-wrote and starred in the Channel 4 mockumentary series '' That Peter Kay Thing'' (2000). "Stan's World Cup Song", also known as "Aye Aye Ippy The Germans Bombed Our Chippy", is a song by English comedian Stan Boardman. It is set to the tune of "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain" and the Dambusters March. It was released to coincide with the 2006 FIFA World Cup. History Boardman came up with the idea of writing his own World Cup song because he thought that some of them were "lousy". He then wrote the song and designed a CD cover for it and contacted a friend of his to help record it. The song was first performed in Liverpool on 28 April 2006. Boardman stated that if the song made it to no. 1 in the UK charts, he would donate half of the profits to charity.
