Electrica Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Timișoara, Romania. It is currently used mostly for association football, football matches and is the home ground of ACS Electrica Timișoara, Electrica Timișoara and FC Ripensia Timișoara, Ripensia Timișoara. The stadium holds 5,000 people and is located in the Fabric, Timișoara, Fabric district. In the past it was also the home ground of FC Politehnica II Timișoara, Politehnica II Timișoara. In the past, Stadionul UMT, which was placed just a few meters away, was named also as Stadionul Electrica, fact that created some confusion over time. FC Ripensia Timișoara
Fotbal Club Ripensia Timișoara (), commonly known as Ripensia Timișoara, or simply as Ripensia, is a Romanian professional Association football, football Club (organization), club based in Timișoara, Timiș County, which currently plays in Liga V The team was founded in 1928 by Lázár Kornél and folded twenty years later due to lack of funds. However, ''Ripi'' was brought back to life and enrolled in the Liga VI, the sixth tier of the Romanian football league system, in 2012. Ripensia Timișoara was the first Romanian club to turn professional, and because of this status they were unable to compete in the Liga I, national league until the 1932–33 Divizia A, 1932–33 season. ACS Poli Timișoara
Asociația Club Sportiv Poli Timișoara (), commonly known as ACS Poli Timișoara, Poli Timișoara or simply ACS Poli, was a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Timișoara, Timiș County. The team was founded in 2012, the year the old FC Politehnica Timișoara went bankrupt. ACS Recaș was moved to Timișoara and—supported by the City Council of Timișoara and the Timiș County Council—was meant to continue the history of the original entity. It promoted to the top flight in the 2013–14 season, however attendances were modest as the majority of the former fans chose to support ASU Politehnica Timișoara instead. Fabric, Timișoara
Fabric (; ; ) is one of the oldest historic districts of Timișoara, Romania. It is located in the central-eastern part of Timișoara, in the vicinity of the Cetate, Timișoara, Cetate district, being a continuation of the historical city centre. Its name comes from the factories that were built here since its appearance in the 18th century. History Until after 1716, the present-day Fabric, located east of the Cetate, Timișoara, Cetate district, was not inhabited. In 1716 there were only two water mills in this area. The northern one may have served as a powder keg in the 1660s. A so-called "esplanade" surrounded the fortress of Timișoara until 1892. UMT Stadium () was a multi-purpose stadium in Timișoara, Romania. Until 1960 the stadium was known as ''Stadionul Electrica'' and was the main home ground in Timișoara for Sport of athletics, athletics championships, being also the stadium where Olympic Games, Olympic champion Iolanda Balaș made her debut. FC Ripensia Timișoara, Ripensia Timișoara (until 1948) and ACS Electrica Timișoara, Electrica Timișoara (until 1960) also used the stadium as the home ground for association football, football matches. In 1960 the stadium entered into possession of Uzinele Mecanice Timișoara (UMT) and a sports complex was built around it, consisting of another stadium and various grounds.
