Târgu Cărbunești
Târgu Cărbunești is a town in Gorj County, Oltenia, Romania with a population of 7,616 as of 2021.Rezultatele finale ale Recensământului din 2011: It lies in the south-eastern part of the county and administers ten villages: Blahnița de Jos, Cărbunești-Sat, Cojani, Crețești, Curteana, Floreșteni, Măceșu, Pojogeni, Rogojeni, and Ștefănești. The town is crossed by National road and is also served by the Cărbunești Railway Station, which was built in 1888. Since 2003, the city hosts a centre for the rehabilitation of children with mental illnesses which was built with funds from a donation of the Duke of Luxembourg. The "Cărbunești Day" is celebrated on August 29. Clubul Sportiv Gilortul Târgu Cărbunești, commonly known as Gilortul Târgu Cărbunești, is a Romanian professional football club from Târgu Cărbunești, Gorj County, currently competes in the Liga III, the 3rd tier of the Romanian football. History In the 1997–98 season, Gilortul, led from the bench by Cristinel Răducan, won the Divizia D – Gorj County, but lost the promotion play-off against Șoimii Pâncota, the winner of Divizia D – Arad County, 1–2 at Cetate Stadium in Deva.
