Michael "Michi" Uhrmann (born 16 September 1978) is a German former ski jumper who competed from 1994 to 2011. Career He competed in two Winter Olympics, winning a gold medal in the team large hill event at Salt Lake City in 2002, and a silver medal in the team large hill at Vancouver in 2010. The 2006 Winter Olympics (), officially the XX Olympic Winter Games () and also known as Torino 2006, were a winter multi-sport event held from 10 to 26 February in Turin, Italy. This marked the second time Italy had hosted the Winter Olympics, the first being in 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo; Italy had also hosted the Summer Olympics in 1960 in Rome. Ski Jumping Hill
A ski jumping hill is a sports venue used for ski jumping. They vary in size from temporary handmade snow structures to permanent competition venues. At the top is an in-run where the jumper runs down to generate sufficient speed, before reaching the jump. The skier is then airborne until landing on the landing slope. The last part of the hill is the out-run, which may be either flat or even uphill, allowing the jumper to stop. The construction point (''K point'') is used to determine the distance points for a particular length. The size of a hill is measured in the hill size. The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup is the world's highest level of ski jumping and the FIS Ski Flying World Cup as the subdivisional part of the competition. It was founded by Torbjørn Yggeseth for the 1979/80 season and organized by the International Ski Federation. Women began competing during the 2011/12 season. The 2004–05 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was the 26th World Cup season in ski jumping and the unofficial World Cup season in ski flying with no small crystal globe awarded. Season began in Kuusamo, Finland on 27 November 2004 and finished in Planica, Slovenia on 20 March 2005. The individual World Cup overall winner was Finnish ski jumper Janne Ahonen (who also won Four Hills Tournament), another Finnish Matti Hautamäki won Nordic Tournament and Nations Cup was taken by Team of Austria. 28 men's individual events on 19 different venues in 10 countries were held on the twoe different continents (Europe and Asia).
