St Thomas More Catholic High School is a Mixed-sex education, coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school for 11- to 16-year-olds, situated close to the centre of Crewe, in Cheshire, England. There are nearly 700 pupils on the roll at the current time. The school's headteacher is Katherine Packham, who gained this position in September 2023. History of the school The school was one of 62 schools to gain specialist school status in Mathematics and Information and Communications Technology, Information Communication Technologies in September 2006. This was added to in March 2009 with the achievement of specialist school status in Modern Foreign Languages. The school converted to academy status in June 2013. In September 2023 Katherine Packham was appointed headteacher. Thomas More
Sir Thomas More (7 February 1478 – 6 July 1535), venerated in the Catholic Church as Saint Thomas More, was an English lawyer, judge, social philosopher, author, statesman, theologian, and noted Renaissance humanist. He also served Henry VIII as Lord Chancellor from October 1529 to May 1532. He wrote ''Utopia (book), Utopia'', published in 1516, which describes the political system of an utopia, imaginary island state. More opposed the Protestant Reformation, directing polemics against the theology of Martin Luther, Huldrych Zwingli and William Tyndale. More also opposed Henry VIII's separation from the Catholic Church, refusing to acknowledge Henry as supreme head of the Church of England and the annulment of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon. Harry Davis (footballer Born 1991)
Harry Spencer Davis (born 24 September 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for club AFC Fylde. Davis has previously played for Crewe Alexandra, St Mirren, Grimsby Town, Morecambe and Scunthorpe United. Early in his career, he was loaned by Crewe to Nantwich Town, Stafford Rangers and Curzon Ashton. Career Crewe Alexandra Davis was born in Burnley, Lancashire. Crewe Alexandra Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Crewe, Cheshire, England. Its first team competes in League Two, the fourth level of the English football league system. Joseph Steven Davis (born 10 November 1993) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a centre back for club Northwich Victoria. Davis is son of professional manager Steve Davis and brother of Harry Davis. Mark John Cueto (born 26 December 1979 in Workington, Cumbria) is a former English international rugby union player. He played on the wing for Sale Sharks and England.
