St Edward's College is an Independent school, independent Catholic school, Catholic Secondary school, secondary day school for Single-sex education, boys, located in , in the Central Coast (New South Wales), Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. The school was founded by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1953, who continue to run the school. Colloquially referred to as ''Eddies'', the College caters for boys from Year 7 to Year 12. St. Edward's is the only Catholic independent all-boys' secondary school located on the NSW Central Coast. It has approximately 1,000 students and 100 staff. History The school was opened in 1953 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers. The Regal Theatre, in the city, was demolished in 1978 and the remains of the building were used as land fill for the College ovals. Jacob Saifiti (born 1 May 1996) is a Fiji international rugby league footballer who plays as a forward for the Newcastle Knights in the NRL. Matt Hodgson (born 25 June 1981) is an Australian sports administrator and former professional rugby union player for the Western Force and the Wallabies, the Australian national team. He is currently head of rugby at Global Rapid Rugby which launched its Asia-Pacific Showcase competition in 2019. Quentin Fyffe (born February 15, 1972) is an Australian-born Canadian former international rugby union player. Biography Fyffe grew up in Avoca Beach on the NSW Central Coast and in the late 1990s relocated to Calgary, where he played rugby for the Mavericks. He qualified to play for Canada on residency grounds. From 2003 to 2005, Fyffe was capped 15 times by Canada, used mainly as a fullback. He competed at the 2003 Rugby World Cup which was held in his birth country and scored a late try against Italy in Canberra, as Canada came close to causing an upset. Paul Bevan (born 27 September 1984) is an Australian rules football player with the Sydney Swans of the Australian Football League (AFL).
