The Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore ( la, Diocesis Mangalorensis) is a diocese located in the city of Mangalore in the Ecclesiastical province of Bangalore in India. Most Holy Redeemer Church, Belthangady
The Most Holy Redeemer Church is a historic Roman Catholic Church situated in the locality of Belthangady. The current structure of the church was built in 2012 during the tenure of Fr. James Dsouza. The original structure was constructed near the site of the present-day church building. It is the one of the oldest churches in Belthangady. This parish comes under Belthangady Varado which is a part of Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore. History This first structure of the church came into existence around 1885 and the current church is the 3rd structure. The other two older structures were demolished. In 1682, when Maratha King Sambhaji invaded Goa, some Catholic families fled from Bardez in Goa, to a place called Gaddai, Athyadka and began residing there. In about 1870, Fr. The Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Belthangady is an Eastern Catholic eparchy in Belthangady, India, under the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. It was established in 1999 by Pope John Paul II's bull "Cum Ampla". It is a suffragan diocese of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archeparchy of Tellicherry. The bishop of this diocese is Lawrence Mukkuzhy. The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Church is a historic Roman Catholic Church situated at Madanthyar near Belthangady. The church was built on 29 January 1893. This church comes under Deanery of Belthangady, Roman Catholic Diocese of Mangalore. This church is dedicated to Sacred Heart of Jesus. Goan Catholics ( gom, Goenchem Katholik) are an ethno-religious community of Indian Christians following the Roman Rite of worship from the Goa state, in the southern part of the Konkan region along the west coast of India. They are Konkani people and speak the Konkani language. The Deanery of Belthangady or Belthangady Varado is one of the deaneries which comes under Diocese of Mangalore located at Belthangady, Karnataka, India. This deanery consists 10 parishes and Most Holy Redeemer Church (Belthangady) is the primary parish for this Deanery. Fr. Joseph Cardoza is the current vicar of this Deanery. History In 1908, Fr.
