Sreten Dragojlović
Sreten Dragojlović ( sr-Cyrl, Сретен Драгојловић; May 6, 1938 – September 2, 1971) was a Serbian basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Playing career Dragojlović started his basketball career with his hometown team Sloga. After that, he came to Belgrade and spent most of his career in the Crvena zvezda of the Yugoslav Basketball League for which he played from 1957 to 1967. He was also brought there by the former Zvezda player Srđan Kalember. In 1960, he got five-month suspension after had got caught smuggling on the Poland tour. In the 1963 season, Dragojlović scored an excellent average of 28.2 points per game. He was the best club pointer that season while Vladimir Cvetković scored 25.5 points, and Ratomir Vićentić 18.9. The Balkan Basketball Championship, sometimes referred to as the Balkan Basketball Cup or the Balkan Basketball Games, is the defunct competition that was the men's basketball competition added in 1959 to the Balkan Games that started in 1929. The purpose of the "Balkan Games" was to strengthen the relations between the nations of the Balkans region. Championship of Yugoslavia in Basketball for women took place from in 1945. until 1992, the last in the dominance of one club - Belgrade Crvena zvezda. Basketball At The 1960 Summer Olympics
Basketball at the 1960 Summer Olympics was the fifth appearance of the sport of basketball as an official Olympic medal event. 16 nations were admitted into the Olympic tournament, with many others being eliminated in a pre-Olympic tournament held earlier in the year from 13 to 20 August 1960 at the Land Rover Arena at Bologna. 64 games of basketball were played in the Olympic tournament that was held at the Palazzetto dello Sport and PalaLottomatica, both in Rome. The 16 teams were split up into four groups for the preliminary round. Each team played every other team in its group once. The top two teams in each group advanced to the semifinals in two pools of four, while the lower two teams were sent to a consolation semifinal for 9th through 16th place. KK Borac Čačak
Košarkaški klub Borac Čačak ( sr-cyr, Кошаркашки клуб Борац Чачак), commonly referred to as KK Borac Čačak or as Borac Mozzart due to sponsorship reasons, is a men's professional basketball club based in Čačak, Serbia. Vladimir Cvetković ( sr-cyr, Владимир Цветковић; born 24 May 1941) is a Serbian former basketball player and sports administrator who is the honorary president of Crvena zvezda. He played with KK Crvena zvezda for 13 seasons. With Crvena zvezda he won 2 National Championships and 1 National Cup. He spent his entire playing career with KK Crvena zvezda. 1963 Yugoslav First Basketball League
The 1963 Yugoslav First Basketball League season was the 19th season of the Yugoslav First Basketball League. The season ended with OKK Beograd winning the league championship, ahead of KK Partizan. The season began during June 1963 following the end of the 1963 FIBA World Championship in Brazil where the Yugoslav national team won silver, its first-ever medal at the FIBA World Championship. The national team success led to an increased level of interest in basketball throughout the country as the public eagerly awaited another showdown between the main title contenders — OKK Beograd led by twenty-four-year-old power forward Radivoj Korać and KK Olimpija whose on-court leader was twenty-five-year-old point guard Ivo Daneu. Srđan Kalember ( sr-cyr, Срђан Калембер; June 5, 1928 – February 2, 2016), also known in France by his nickname Serge ( sr-cyr, Серж), was a Serbian professional basketball player and coach. He won 9 National Championships with Crvena zvezda. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Early life Kalember begins to play sports as a boy in 1938 when he won second place in the 60 meters race. On that occasion he received a kiss from Princess Elizabeth. During World War II he played football in Belgrade for the BASK, but was also interested in other sports. The First Federal Basketball League () was the highest tier level men's professional club basketball competition in SFR Yugoslavia. Founded in 1945 and folded in 1992 (1991-92 Winer Broker YUBA League), it was run by the Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia. With a total of 16 European-wide trophy winners and 11 finalists, the Yugoslav First Basketball League was one of the strongest European national domestic basketball leagues of all time.
