Utopian And Dystopian Fiction
Utopian and dystopian fiction are subgenres of speculative fiction that explore extreme forms of social and political structures. Utopian fiction portrays a setting that agrees with the author's ethos, having various attributes of another reality intended to appeal to readers. Dystopian fiction offers the opposite: the portrayal of a setting that completely disagrees with the author's ethos. Conversely, the highest income earners (those earning 100 million won or more) make up 1.4% of the labour force. According to a survey in 2019, among young South Koreans, 89.3% of women and 81.7% of men agreed with the statement that "people born into poverty can never compete with [those] born into wealth". Current situation Among other countries in OECD, South Korea performs relatively well when considering indicators such as the Gini coefficient and Palma ratio, especially when limiting the comparison to countries with similar populations. However, income polarization (the income gap) has not eased since the South Korea and the International Monetary Fund#Intervention, IMF stimulus, and thus is becoming more serious as of 2018.
