Square René-Viviani
The Square René Viviani (Official French name: ''Square René Viviani-Montebello'') is a public square adjacent to the Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre, Church of Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. A feature worthy of note in the square is an #tree, ancient tree that is surrounded by a circular bench. Location The Square René Viviani is a city park located slightly to the north of the Gothic church of Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre, built at the same time as Notre-Dame Cathedral and consequently one of Paris' oldest churches. Disaffected during the Revolution, in the 19th century the ruinous church was taken over by the city's Greek Melchite Church and is today the center of that religious community in Paris. Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre
Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre, in full Église Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre (French language, French for ''Church of Saint Julian the Poor''), is a Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Melkite Greek Catholic parish church in Paris, France, and one of the city's oldest religious buildings. Begun in Romanesque architecture, Romanesque style during the 12th century, most of its architecture is Primary Gothic. It is situated in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, 5th arrondissement, on the Rive Gauche, Left Bank of the Seine River, about 500 meters away from the Musée de Cluny and in the proximity of the Maubert-Mutualité (Paris Métro), Maubert-Mutualité Paris Métro station. It shares a city block with the Square René Viviani. Priory
A priory is a monastery of men or women under religious vows that is headed by a prior or prioress. They were created by the Catholic Church. Priories may be monastic houses of monks or nuns (such as the Benedictines, the Cistercians, or the Charterhouses). Houses of canons & canonesses regular also use this term, the alternative being "canonry". Mendicant houses, of friars, nuns, or tertiary sisters (such as the Friars Preachers, Augustinian Hermits, and Carmelites) also exclusively use this term. In pre-Reformation England, if an abbey church was raised to cathedral status, the abbey became a cathedral priory.
