Sprints (band)
Sprints are an Irish garage punk band, formed in Dublin in 2019. The band currently consists of Karla Chubb (vocals, guitar), Sam McCann (bass, vocals), Jack Callan (drums) and Zac Stephenson (guitar). Between 2019 and 2022, the band recorded and released a series of singles and EPs for the label, Nice Swan, before signing to City Slang. Their debut album, '' Letter to Self,'' was released in January 2024 to widespread critical acclaim. Following the album's release, founding guitarist Colm O’Reilly departed from the band in May 2024, citing "a desire to retreat from public performance." Following O’Reilly's departure, the band were initially joined by a succession of guest guitarists during their summer 2024 tour, before Zac Stephenson permanently joined the band's line-up. The newly solidified four-piece recorded and released, "Feast", a stand-alone single exploring "gluttony, consumption and desire." PJ Harvey
Polly Jean Harvey (born 9 October 1969) is an English singer-songwriter. Primarily known as a vocalist and guitarist, she is also proficient with a wide range of instruments. Harvey began her career in 1988 when she joined local band Automatic Dlamini as a vocalist, guitarist and saxophonist. The band's frontman, John Parish, is still her long-term collaborator. The O Forum Kentish Town is a concert venue in Kentish Town, London, England, owned by Live Nation Entertainment and originally built in 1934. History The venue was built in 1934 and was originally used as an art deco cinema. After the cinema was closed, the venue re-opened as an Irish dance hall. In the 1980s, it changed directions from a bingo hall, to a dance hall and then to a live music venue under the name Town & Country Club. The Thirty-sixth Amendment of the Constitution of Ireland (previously bill no. 29 of 2018) is an amendment to the Constitution of Ireland which permits the Oireachtas to legislate for abortion. The constitution had previously prohibited abortion, unless there was a serious risk to the life of the mother. The proposal is often described as the Repeal of the Eighth Amendment, referring to the 1983 constitutional amendment which guaranteed the right to life of foetuses, making abortion illegal unless the pregnancy is life-threatening.
