Sport José Galvez was a Peruvian football club, located in the city of Lima. The club was founded with the name of club Sport José Galvez and played in Peruvian Primera División from 1915 until 1926. The club won the national tournament in 1915 and 1916. In 1926, Sport José Galvez was relegated and it was their last appearance in the Peruvian Primera División. 1926 Peruvian Primera División
The 1926 Primera División was the 11th season of top-flight Peruvian football. A total of 11 teams competed in the league, with Sport Progreso successfully defending their national title won in 1921. This was the first season to be organized by the Peruvian Football Federation as the Liga Peruana de Football ceased operations in 1921. The Association FBC did not participate in the league because it had permission from the FPF to carry out a football tour to Central America. Many matches were not played; therefore many teams were relegated and for 1927 the Primera División was reduced to 8 clubs. Peruvian Segunda División (1912–1925)
The Segunda División (usually called simply Intermedia) was the second division of Peruvian football (soccer) in 1912 until 1925. The tournament was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. In 1912 was the first season of top-flight Peruvian football. A total of 16 teams competed in the league. This first season with organised league, covering Lima, Callao, and suburbs such as Miraflores and Barranco. José Gálvez de Lima withdrew because of not agreeing with the competition format. The clubs from Callao (among which Atlético Chalaco) did not respond to the invitation to enter. The 16 teams were divided over a First División and a Second Division, both of 8 clubs. Atlético Grau No. 1 and Atlético Peruano finished equal on points; however, Atletico Grau No. 1 defeated Atlético Peruano in an extra match and was declared the champion of the Segunda División.
