Spiš Arena is a sports arena in Spišská Nová Ves, Slovakia. It is primarily used for ice hockey, and is the home arena of HK Spišská Nová Ves. Spiš Arena was opened in 1982 as Zimný Štadión SNV and has a seating capacity for 5,503 people for Ice hockey games. The arena has one of only two real-time biometry and facial recognition systems in the world. It was implemented by Colosseo EAS, a Slovak company that also built the arena's game presentation system. Spišská Nová Ves
Spišská Nová Ves (; ; ) is a town in the Košice Region of Slovakia. The town is located southeast of the High Tatras in the Spiš region, and lies on both banks of the Hornád River. It is the biggest town of the Spišská Nová Ves District. Tourist attractions nearby include the medieval town of Levoča, Spiš Castle and the Slovak Paradise National Park. A biennial music festival, ''Divertimento musicale'', is held here, attracting amateur music ensembles from all over Slovakia. 1994 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships
The 1994 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 58th such event sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Teams representing 35 countries participated in several levels of competition, with an additional two national teams failing to advance from a mid-season preliminary qualifying tournament. The competition also served as qualifications for group placements in the 1995 competition. The top Championship Group A tournament took place in Italy from 25 April to 8 May 1994, with games played in Bolzano, Canazei and Milan. IIHF World U18 Championship
The IIHF U18 World Championship is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation for national under-18 ice hockey teams from around the world. The tournament is usually played in April and is organized according to a system similar to the Ice Hockey World Championships and the IIHF World Junior Championship.
