Graham Webb (broadcaster)
Graham "Spider" Webb (19 April 1936 – 26 April 2024) was an Australian radio and television broadcaster and producer. Career Webb began his radio career at 2TM, Tamworth, New South Wales in 1954. In 1955 he moved to Brisbane to become the "junior" announcer for 4BH, before moving on to 4GY Gympie to gain more experience. After a stint in National service in Australia, National Service, Webb returned to Sydney in 1957, where he became the announcer for the Sunday religious programs on 2CH. Subsequently, Webb became Reg Grundy's offsider on the radio version of ''Wheel of Fortune (Australian game show), Wheel of Fortune''. In late 1957, Webb joined radio station 2UE, where he hosted the first Top 40 radio show on Sydney radio in the late 1950s, working with Gary O'Callaghan, John Laws, Tony Withers and Bob Rogers (DJ), Bob Rogers. Travis Webb
Travis Leon "Spider" Webb (October 8, 1910 – January 27, 1990) was an American racing driver. He was the 1948 American Automobile Association (AAA) Midwest Sprint Car champion. He raced in numerous AAA Championship Car races including six Indianapolis 500s. Known as "Spider", Webb transported a portable bar in the trunk of his car at all times and was known for his free spirit and his humor. Early life Webb was born in Joplin, Missouri. His father made cabinets. Webb's parents moved the family to Los Angeles, California in 1923. Racing career Webb began racing on the Muroc Dry Lake (now known as Rogers Dry Lake) in 1928. His car owner gave him the nickname "Spider". Webb decided to stop racing on the long straightaways and decided to focus on dirt oval racing of Southern California. Spider Webb (jazz Drummer)
Spider Webb (born Kenneth Ronald Rice; June 15, 1944) is an American jazz drummer and session musician. Biography Spider Webb, aka Kenneth Rice, began playing drums at an early age in his home town of Detroit. Before leaving the motor city, he recorded with United Artists and Holland-Dozier-Holland. He moved to New York in 1967 where he quickly gained prominence as a studio drummer. Webb was hired on the spot by King Curtis and became the drummer for Harry Belafonte, from 1969 through 1972. In 1972, he played in a band backing David Clayton-Thomas, with Smitty Smith, Chuck Rainey, and Danny Kortchmar. He has also recorded with Freddie Hubbard, Robert Palmer, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Grover Washington, Jr, Labelle, Herb Alpert and Hugh Masekela, among others. Spider Webb (tattoo Artist)
Joseph Patrick O'Sullivan (March 3, 1944 – July 2, 2022), known professionally as Spider Webb after the character from the 1937 serial film '' Tim Tyler's Luck'', was an American tattoo artist. Biography He was born in The Bronx, New York, the son of Tecla Baranowicz and David O'Sullivan. At the age of fourteen, O'Sullivan had visited a tattoo artist in Coney Island, New York for which he got his first tattoo on his arm. He learned about tattooing for which he had pursuit. O'Sullivan served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. He also attended the School of Visual Arts, where he earned his bachelor's degree in 1970. He then emigrated to Mexico to attend Instituto Allende, where he earned his master's degree. O'Sullivan served as a tattoo artist in Mount Vernon, New York for which he had established a tattoo parlor store. Ellsworth Webb (November 20, 1931 – November 23, 2017) was an American boxer. He competed in the men's light middleweight event at the 1952 Summer Olympics. The Horrors are an English rock band formed in Southend-on-Sea in 2005 by lead vocalist Faris Badwan, guitarist Joshua Hayward, keyboardist and synthesizer player Tom Furse, bassist Rhys Webb, and drummer and percussionist Joe Spurgeon. Their music has been classified as garage rock, garage punk, gothic rock, shoegaze and post-punk revival. The band's current lineup includes all of the founding members bar Furse and Spurgeon, who have been inactive performing live since 2021 and 2024, respectively. In early October 2024, it was announced that the band were now joined by Amelia Kidd (of the Ninth Wave) on keyboards and backing vocals, as well as Jordan Cook (of Telegram) on drums. Bad News (band)
Bad News are a fictional English heavy metal band created for the Channel 4 television series '' The Comic Strip Presents...''. Its members were Vim Fuego (played by Ade Edmondson) on vocals and lead guitar; Den Dennis (Nigel Planer) on rhythm guitar; Colin Grigson (Rik Mayall) on bass; and Spider "Eight-Legs" Webb ( Peter Richardson) on drums.
