A sparkler is a type of hand-held firework that burns slowly while emitting bright, colored sparks. It burns in high temperature (over 1000°C), so it can be very dangerous. Sparklers are particularly popular with children. Dextrins are a group of low-molecular-weight carbohydrates produced by the hydrolysis of starch and glycogen.
