South Skåne Brigade
The South Skåne Brigade (), or the 7th Mechanized Brigade (MekB 7), is a Swedish Army mechanized brigade located in the county of Skåne, active since 2022. It was previously active 1943–2000. The Defence Act of 2000 (prop. 1999/2000:30) was a defence act passed by the Swedish Riksdag on 30 March 2000, and the largest reorganisation of the Swedish Armed Forces since the Defence Act of 1925. Mats Welff
Major General Mats Håkan Ingemar Welff (born 12 July 1947) is a retired Swedish Army officer. Welff began his military career as a second lieutenant in the Swedish Army in 1970 and steadily rose through the ranks. He attended the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College and served in different roles within the military, including commanding the Malmö Brigade and the 1st Nordic Battalion in UNPROFOR in the Balkans. Notably, he commanded the Halland Regiment and Halland Defence District as well as the Southern Army Division. Welff served as the Chief of Home Guard from 2000 to 2002. He retired as a major general in 2002 and subsequently worked as a regional director in the Scania Regional Council from 2002 to 2007. North Scanian Infantry Regiment
North Scanian Infantry Regiment (), designation I 6, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that operated from 1812 to 1963. The unit was based in the Kristianstad Garrison in Kristianstad. In 1963 the regiment was transferred to the Swedish Armoured Troops under the name of North Scanian Regiment (P 6). History The North Scanian Infantry Regiment was raised on 10 December 1811, and its first commander, major general Georg Carl von Döbeln, was appointed on 14 January 1812.
