Sound Surgery
''Sound Surgery'' is a four track EP by American dubstep group Killbot. Released through Steve Aoki's record label Dim Mak Records, the group features Jonathan Davis AKA JDevil, Nick Suddarth AKA Sluggo, and Tyler Blue. The EP debuted at number 13 on the Billboards Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart on the week of November 13, 2012. Recording After discovering Suddarth's track ''The Dark Crystal'' and being a huge fan of the 1982 film, Davis invited Suddarth to his Bakersfield studio to record some tracks. Suddarth decided to bring Blue along, whom he'd also just met, and the three of them immediately hit it off. They recorded the first two tracks, ''Wrecked'' and ''I'll F**k It'', in just 12 hours. Davis said about it: Suddarth would elaborated further, explaining that with all of them bringing their unique styles into the mix they felt they were doing something that no one else had ever done. Killbot
Killbot was an American electronic dance music trio formed in January 2012. The lineup includes JDevil (Jonathan Davis of Korn), Sluggo (Nick Suddarth) and Tyler Blue. Killbot's music is a fusion of dubstep, electro, drum and bass, and moombahton. History The band's first release, "I'll Fuck It", debuted on Spin's official website on September 28, 2012. Another track, "Wrecked", was world premiered on Dubstep.net on October 8, 2012. "Feel Alive" debuted on ARTISTdirect on October 22, 2012. Their debut EP, ''Sound Surgery'', was released via Dim Mak Records on October 22, 2012, peaking at number two on the iTunes dance chart within the first 24 hours of availability. Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. Dim Mak Records is an independent, Los Angeles–based record label, events company, and lifestyle brand founded by Steve Aoki in 1996. The label has released music under the genres of punk, indie rock, hardcore, hip hop, and electronic dance music. History Early years Steve Aoki started Dim Mak Records in 1996 at the age of 19, out of his college apartment at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
