Sota.Vision
Sota.vision (SOTA) is a Russian independent news outlet. SOTA was started by a former reporter of Grani.ru, Alexandra Ageeva, who created her own YouTube channel to cover the most dramatic events involving Russian opposition activities in Moscow. These included rallies in support of Alexei Navalny, Bolotnaya Square case, and pickets condemning Russia's meddling in Ukraine. History The website was launched in 2015 by Alexandra Ageeva and Oleg Elanchik, who later became its editor in chief. Later in 2015 SOTA was officially registered as a certified media outlet, and the company soon started its own social media accounts. The site mainly covers protests inside the country. SOTA's biggest focus is the opposition agenda, both in the capital and beyond. Sota.vision has a network of reporters operating not only in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, but the other regions of Russia. Alexandra Ageeva
Alexandra Ageeva (; born March 26, 1986) is a Russian opposition journalist and the founder of the publication Sota.vision. In February 2022, she was recognized as a foreign agent. Biography Alexandra Ageeva was born on March 26, 1986 in Sverdlovsk. She studied at the Rostropovich Voronezh Music High School, specializing in instrumental performance. In connection with her move to Rostov-on-Don, her studies continued at the , which Alexandra graduated from. Later, she received the qualification of the head of an instrumental group and teacher. While still studying at college, Alexandra entered the Rostov State Musical Theater as a choir artist. After completing her studies, she continued to serve in this theater. Yevgeny Valeryevich Domozhirov (; born 28 July 1974) is a Russian politician. He served as a deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Vologda Oblast from 2011 to 2012. He is also known as a former coordinator of Alexei Navalny's regional headquarters in Vologda in 2018 and member of the committee on local self-government issues of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Northwest of Russia. Alexei Navalny
Alexei Anatolyevich Navalny (, ; 4 June 197616 February 2024) was a Russian Opposition to Vladimir Putin in Russia, opposition leader, anti-corruption in Russia, corruption activist and political prisoner. He founded the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) in 2011. Bolotnaya Square Case
The Bolotnaya Square case is a criminal case by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on account of alleged mass riots (article 212 of the Russian Criminal code) and alleged violence against the police (article 318 of the Russian Criminal code) during the " March of the Millions" on May 6, 2012 at the Bolotnaya Square in Moscow. The demonstration was one of the biggest protests in Russia since the 1990s. By the number of accused, 37 persons, it is currently the largest criminal case against participants of public demonstrations in modern Russia. The Bolotnaya Square case is largely recognized as politically motivated both internationally and in Russia. Russian Foreign Agent Law
