Sophie Gustafson
Sophie Gustafson (born 27 December 1973) is a List of Swedish professional golfers, Swedish professional golfer. She was a member of the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and is a life member of the Ladies European Tour (LET). She has five LPGA Tour and 23 international wins in her career, including victories on five of the six continents on which golf is played: North America, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia. She is a four-time LET Order of Merit winner and represented Europe in the Solheim Cup on each team from 1998 to 2011. She won the Women's British Open in 2000, the year before it was recognized as a Women's major golf championships, major championship by the LPGA Tour and finished runner-up in 2005 Women's British Open, 2005 and 2006 Women's British Open, 2006. Varberg () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Varberg Municipality, Halland County, Sweden, with 35,782 inhabitants in 2019. The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a major championship in women's professional golf. It is recognised by both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour as a major. The reigning champion is Lydia Ko, who won at the 2024 tournament. Donegal Irish Ladies' Open
The Women's Irish Open is a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour (LET), held in Ireland. The tournament became part of the LET schedule in 1994 and ran for ten editions through 2003. After a four-year hiatus, the tournament was revived again in 2008 as part of the buildup to the 2011 Solheim Cup, scheduled for late September at Killeen Castle in County Meath. Killeen Castle hosted the Ladies Irish Open in early August, the week following the Women's British Open. Last played in 2012, the tournament returned in 2022, now held at Dromoland Castle in County Clare. At St. Margaret's in 1995, Laura Davies recorded a 72-hole total of 267 (−25), 16 strokes clear of runner-up Åsa Gottmo, setting world records for the lowest aggregate score and the biggest margin of victory in women's professional golf. Rörstrand Ladies Open
The Rörstrand Ladies Open was a women's professional golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour played annually from 1991 until 1997. It was always held at the Lidköping Golf Club in Lidköping, Sweden. The tournament attracted top female Swedish golfers and in 1991 future Ladies European Tour (LET) player Maria Bertilsköld won, while Marie Wennersten, winner of the 1985 Mitsubishi Colt Cars Jersey Open finished third, and Åsa Gottmo, eventual winner of the Wales Ladies Championship of Europe, finished fifth. 1993 marked the tournament's peak, with many international players from the LET taking part, boasting a field including 13-time LET winner Corinne Dibnah, LET/LPGA winners Mardi Lunn, Debbie Dowling, Carin Koch, Sofia Grönberg-Whitmore and that year's winner Dale Reid, a Scottish golfing legend with 21 European Tour victories. Swedish Golf Tour
The Swedish Golf Tour, currently titled as the Cutter & Buck Tour for sponsorship reasons, is a developmental professional golf which was formerly operated by Svenska Golftourerna AB, as well as being owned equally by the Swedish Golf Federation and the PGA of Sweden. Since 2018 it has been operated by the Swedish Golf Federation. The tour is designed to help Swedish golfers to reach the standard of play needed to qualify for the European Tour or the Challenge Tour. The events on the SGT are included in the Nordic Golf League, which is one of four European Tour-recognised third-tier tours, and is run in collaboration by the national golf associations of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Swedish Junior Matchplay Championship
The Swedish Junior Match-play Championship is a national golf tournament in Sweden for golfers under the age of 22, contested for both men and women. The championship is open to Swedish citizens until the year they turn 21. In Swedish known as JSM Match, it has been organized by the Swedish Golf Federation since 1939. From 1977 to 1991 the championship was contested in stroke-play, the Swedish Junior Stroke-play Championship. Since 2001, the match-play and stroke-play championships have been held in parallel. Five players, four women and one man, have won both in the same year: Louise Stahle (2002), Caroline Hedwall (2006), Isabella Deilert (2010), Linnea Ström (2012) and David Nyfjäll (2018).
