Sophie Bray
Sophie Charlotte Bray (born 12 May 1990) is an English international field hockey player who played as a forward for England and Great Britain. She currently plays club hockey in the Investec Women's Hockey League Premier Division for East Grinstead. Personal life Bray lives in Claygate, Surrey but was born in France where her father worked as a marketing consultant. Back in England she played tennis and football at local clubs, representing Surrey at tennis aged 11. She gave up playing tennis and played football for Fulham Ladies, because she preferred a team sport. She was educated at Tiffin Girls' School, Kingston upon Thames joining Surbiton Hockey Club during her time at the school, initially playing for the colts aged 16, before progressing to the senior team. She attended the University of Birmingham where she studied psychology. Claygate
Claygate is an affluent suburban village in Surrey, England, southwest of central London. It is the only civil parishes in England, civil parish in the borough of Elmbridge. Adjoining Esher and Hinchley Wood to the west and north respectively, and bordered by green belt land to the south and east, Claygate lies within the Greater London Built-up Area. The University of Birmingham Hockey Club is a field hockey club based at the University of Birmingham. The club is regarded as the most successful English University Hockey Club, boasting four national league teams, more than any other English university. The club plays its home games on the Bournbrook pitches (colloquially known as the 'Bourney B') on the south side of the University off the Edgbaston Park Road. The pitches hosted both the Men's and Women's competitions during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. UOBHC runs six men's teams and six women's teams competing in both BUCS and weekend leagues. Team GB is the brand name used since 1999 by the British Olympic Association (BOA) for their British Olympic team.
