Songül is a Turkish given name for females. "Son+gül" literally means "last rose". It is usually given to the last child in a family which expects no more children. In 2014 the general directorate of civil registration and citizenship affairs of Turkey reported that Songül was among 50 most popular female names. In 2021 the newspaper ''Hürriyet'' wrote that about 180,000 bear the name. Songül Dikmen Gürsoytrak (born May 8, 1981) is a Turkish volleyball player. She is tall and plays as libero who is currently free agent and last played for Fenerbahçe Acıbadem. Fatma Songül Gültekin (born 5 November 1997) is a Turkish field hockey, hockey5s and indoor hockey forward player for Gaziantep Polis Gücü SK, and a former football player. She is part of Turkey women's national hockey teams. Football career Gültekin started playing football already in primary school. In May 2011, she obtained her license from the local club Gaziantep Fıstık Spor. In the 2011–12 and 2012–13 Second League, she played in seven matches and scored four goals for her team Gaziantep Fıstık Spor. After a break of two years, she transferred in the 2015–16 Third League to Güneykent Spor, and was loaned out to ALG Spot. She netted ten goals in eight matches for ALG Spor. Songül Öden (born Diyarbakır, 17 February 1979) is a Turkish people, Turkish actress of Zazas, Zaza descent. Her most successful roles were in the series ''Gümüş (TV series), Gümüş'', ''Umutsuz Ev Kadınları'', "Şeref Bey" and ''Uysallar''. Life and career She spent her elementary school, high school and university years in Ankara. During high school days she attended the Ankara Arts Theatre and then in Hacettepe University she had part-time vocal training. She later graduated from Ankara University's theatre school.
