Sommaren är Kort
"Sommaren är kort" (In English: "Summer is short") is a song recorded by Swedish singer, songwriter and musician Tomas Ledin, which calls for seizing times when the sun is shining, as it can rain even in summertime, and time moves fast till the arrival of autumn again. The song was released at Ledins ninth album, ''Gränslös'' (1982). It was also recorded in English as "Taken by Surprise" (on his 10th album ''The Human Touch'', 1982) and in Spanish as "Y Me Sorprendio". The Spanish-language version was the B-side for the single, ''Never Again (Agnetha song), Never Again'' (1983). The single was released in May 1982 and peaked at 7th place on the Sverigetopplistan, Swedish singles chart. The song also stayed at Svensktoppen for four weeks from 23 May through 13 June 1982, climbing one step each week, from 10th to 7th place. and stayed at the last Svensktoppen chart before the 1982 disestablishment. Tomas Ledin
Tomas Folke Jonas Ledin (; born 25 February 1952) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He grew up in the town of Sandviken, Sweden and has sold 3 million records. Career Tomas Ledin started his career in 1972 when his first single, "", was a big hit. Other successful songs followed: "" (1973), (covered by Björn Skifs), "" (1975), "" (1976), and "" (1977). At the beginning of the 1970s, Ledin was influenced by hippie fashion and demonstrated against the Vietnam War. He also took part in a Swedish stage production of the musical ''Godspell'' in 1975 and performed in 140 concerts in the Swedish folkparks in 1977. In 1979, ABBA member Benny Andersson offered him a chance to record for the group's company Polar Music. The singer joined ABBA on their 1979–1980 tour as a backing vocalist, but also got the opportunity to sing his own composition "Not Bad at All" during the show.
