Solar Saros 140
Saros cycle series 140 for solar eclipses occurs at the Moon's descending lunar node, node, repeating every 18 years, 11 days, containing 71 eclipses, including 47 umbral eclipses (11 total, 4 hybrid, 32 annular). The first eclipse in this series was on 16 April 1512 and the last will be on 1 June 2774. The most recent eclipse was an annular eclipse on Solar eclipse of February 26, 2017, 26 February 2017 and the next will be an annular eclipse on Solar eclipse of March 9, 2035, 9 March 2035. The longest duration of totality was 4 minutes, 10 seconds on August 12, 1692 while the longest annular eclipse will be 7 minutes 35 seconds on 15 November 2449. This solar saros is linked to Lunar Saros 133. Umbral eclipses Umbral eclipses (annular, total and hybrid) can be further classified as either: 1) Central (two limits), 2) Central (one limit) or 3) Non-Central (one limit). The statistical distribution of these classes in Saros series 140 appears in the following table. All ec ...

Solar Eclipse Of March 20, 2053
An annular solar eclipse will occur at the Moon's descending node of orbit on Thursday, March 20, 2053, with a magnitude of 0.9919. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun's, blocking most of the Sun's light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring). An annular eclipse appears as a partial eclipse over a region of the Earth thousands of kilometres wide. Occurring about 5.6 days before perigee (on March 25, 2053, at 21:15 UTC), the Moon's apparent diameter will be larger. The path of annularity will be visible from parts of southern Indonesia. A partial solar eclipse will also be visible for parts of Southern Africa, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Antarctica. Eclipse details Shown below are two tables displaying details about this particular solar eclipse. The first table ...
