Economics
Economics () is the social science that studies the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Economics focuses on the behaviour and interactions of economic agents and how economies work. Microeconomics analyzes what's viewed as basic elements in the economy, including individual agents and markets, their interactions, and the outcomes of interactions. Andrew Gordon (historian)
Andrew Gordon is a scholar of modern Japanese history. He is a Lee and Juliet Folger Fund Professor of History at Harvard University and former chair of the Department of History there from 2004 to 2007. He was Director of the Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies from 1998 through 2004. Andrew Gordon completed his PhD in History and East Asian Languages at Harvard University in 1981. Following the completion of his graduate studies he has taught history at both Duke University and at Harvard. He is one of the leading experts on Japanese labor history but has lately shifted to other fields. Gordon's 2003 ''A Modern History of Japan'' is now one of the standard textbooks on the topic and has been translated into Japanese. A revised edition of the work was released in 2009. Jomo Kwame Sundaram
Jomo Kwame Sundaram ( ta, ஜோமோ குவாமே சுந்தரம், Jōmō Kuvāmē Cuntaram) (born 1 December 1952), fondly known just as Jomo, is a prominent Malaysian economist. He is a senior adviser at the Khazanah Research Institute, visiting fellow at the Initiative for Policy Dialogue, Columbia University, and an adjunct professor at the International Islamic University (IIUM). Education Jomo spent his early years studying at Westlands Primary School (1959–63), the Penang Free School (1964–66) and the Royal Military College (1967–70), when he was selected as Malaysia's delegate to the World Youth Forum in 1970. Carol Gluck (born November 12, 1941) is an American academic and Japanologist. She is the George Sansom Professor Emerita of History at Columbia University and served as the president of the Association for Asian Studies in 1996.
