Smooth Radio Breakfast
''Simon Bates at Breakfast'' was the flagship show on Smooth Radio in the United Kingdom from January 2011 to March 2014. It was presented by Simon Bates, who took on the role of the station's breakfast show presenter on 4 January 2011, having left his long-term show at Classic FM in order to take up the position. The programme aired on weekdays from 6.00am to 10.00am, and included '' Our Tune'' and '' The Golden Hour'', two features Bates had previously presented on BBC Radio 1. Freesat is a British free-to-air satellite television service, first formed as a joint venture between the BBC and ITV plc and now owned by Everyone TV (itself owned by all of the four UK Public broadcasting, public service broadcasters, BBC, ITV plc, ITV, Channel Four Television Corporation, Channel 4 and Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited, Channel 5). Daryl Denham
Daryl Denham is a British disc jockey, radio presenter and songwriter. Early career Denham's career started at school, where he was active in producing pop music productions in school concerts, organizing pop quizzes and writing and performing parody songs. He worked privately as a DJ in his own time. After leaving school, he began his first live show at the "Radio Forest" community hospital radio station, based in Epping, Essex. He later became chairman of the organisation and is still a member there today. His early broadcasting career was at BBC Radio Kent, Invicta FM, (where he once fell asleep during an overnight show), SGR-FM in Essex and Chiltern FM in Dunstable. Pat Sharp
Patrick Sharpin known professionally as Pat Sharp, is an English radio presenter, television presenter and DJ. He worked on the children's ITV programme '' Fun House'', was one of the Sky Channel's VJs and presented the Coca-Cola Eurochart Top 50 and Nescafé UK Top 50. Radio work Sharp worked as a presenter at BBC Radio 1 in 1982 and 1983, mixing holiday cover for other radio presenters with a regular early Sunday morning slot and television appearances hosting BBC1's ''Top of the Pops''. Mark Goodier
Mark Goodier (born 9 June 1961) is a Zimbabwean-born British radio disc jockey and broadcaster best known for his time on BBC Radio 1 between 1987 and 2002. He had two spells presenting the station's Top 40 singles chart, from September 1990 to March 1992 and again from April 1995 until November 2002, becoming the show's longest serving presenter. He also had a stint on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show during 1993. Voice-tracking, also called cyber jocking and referred to sometimes colloquially as a robojock, is a technique employed by some radio stations in radio broadcasting to produce the illusion of a live disc jockey or announcer sitting in the radio studios of the station when one is not actually present. It is one of the notable effects of radio homogenization. Background Voice-tracking refers to the process of a disc jockey prerecording their on-air "patter". It is then combined with songs, commercials, and other elements in order to produce a product sounding like a live air shift. Smooth 70s
Smooth 70s is a British radio station dedicated to music from the 1970s. Launched by GMG Radio as a sister station to Smooth Radio, it first aired on 27 December 2011, replacing a temporary station GMG had launched for the Christmas period. The station was broadcast through DAB on the Digital One multiplex and was also available online, where it could be accessed using Radioplayer. The station operated largely on an automated basis, but there was also some presenter input. Although Smooth 70s was not the first UK radio station to be dedicated solely to music from the decade, it was the first to be broadcast nationally. Audience data released by Radio Joint Audience Research Limited (RAJAR) in October 2012 indicated 749,000 listeners were tuning into the station on a regular basis.
