Smiřice
Smiřice (; ) is a town in Hradec Králové District in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,100 inhabitants. Administrative division Smiřice consists of three municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census): *Smiřice (2,590) *Rodov (192) *Trotina (14) Geography Smiřice is located about north of Hradec Králové. It lies in an agricultural landscape of the East Elbe Table. The highest point is the flat hill Lískovec at above sea level. The town is situated on the right bank of the Elbe River. History The first written mention of Smiřice is from 1361. It was originally a settlement between two branches of the Elbe with a fortress, which was later rebuilt to a castle. Smiřice was the centre of a large estate owned by various noble families, most notably by the Smiřickýs of Smiřice (until 1476), the Trčkas of Lípa (1498–1636) and the Sternbergs (1685–1780). D11 Motorway (Czech Republic)
The D11 motorway () is a motorway in the Czech Republic. It is part of European route E67 ''Via Baltica'' from Prague in the Czech Republic, to Helsinki in Finland, passing towns and cities in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Three lanes in each direction are planned by 2025 between Prague and Jirny (8 km) and to Poděbrady after 2025. Around Hradec Králové, the D11 runs in parallel with the D35 (between the Sedlice and the Plotiště interchanges). History Plans to build a highway connecting Prague and Hradec Králové date from 1938. Construction began in 1978, with sections 1101 (Prague-Jirny) and 1102/I (Jirny–Bříství) put into operation in October 1984. Boguszów-Gorce
Boguszów-Gorce () is a town in Wałbrzych County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. As of June 2021, it has a population of 15,085. The town is located approximately west of Wałbrzych, and south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. It lies on the border between the Wałbrzych Mountains and the Stone Mountains in the Central Sudetes. History Boguszów was granted town rights by King Vladislaus II in 1499. It was a mining town, and in 1502 Vladislaus II relinquished to the town a quarter of the tithe owed to him from the town's silver mines. In the 16th century, the town became the most important lead and silver ore mining center in the Sudeten part of Silesia, but by the end of the 16th century much of the deposits had been exploited, and then eventually local mining collapsed during the Thirty Years' War.
