Smederna
Smederna is a motorcycle speedway club based in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The club competes in the highest speedway league in Sweden called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien and race its home matches at Smedstadion, Eskilstuna motorstadion outside Eskilstuna. Smederna has won six Swedish Speedway Team Championships. Venues Snälltorpet The team raced at Snälltorpet from the 1953 Swedish speedway season, 1953 season until the 2001 Swedish speedway season, 2001 season, when the land was sold by Eskilstuna Municipality. The track was also used for 1976 Swedish final, the 1976 Speedway World Pairs Championship and the intercontinental final of the 1979 Speedway World Team Cup. Swedish Speedway Team Championship
The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of motorcycle speedway, speedway in Sweden. History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien (speedway), Elitserien being introduced. The second tier of the Championship is known as the Allsvenskan (speedway), Allsvenskan. Between 1986 and 1999 the team that finished top of the league were declared champions because there was no play-off. 2022 Swedish Speedway Season
The 2022 Swedish speedway season was the 2022 season of speedway in Sweden. In March 2022, Vetlanda were declared bankrupt and would not compete during the season. Individual Individual Championship The 2022 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship was the 2022 version of the Swedish Individual Speedway Championship. The title was won by Oliver Berntzon. The final was held at the Motorstadium in Linköping on 28 June 2022. U21 Championship Team Team Championship Smederna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. Valsarna won the Allsvenskan (second-tier league). Individual Individual Championship The 1977 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 19 August in Kumla. Bernt Persson won the Swedish Championship. Junior Championship Winner - Peter Johansson Team Team Championship Smederna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the second time. The Smederna team included Bernt Persson and Bengt Jansson. The league was expanded to five divisions for the first time, with three regional leagues in the third division. Skepparna won the second division, while Gamarna, Brassarna and Vikingarna won the third division regional leagues. Individual Individual Championship The 1951 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 12 October in Stockholm. Helge Brinkeback won the Swedish Championship for the second consecutive year. Team Team Championship Vargarna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. Smedstadion
Eskilstuna Motorstadion, also known as Smedstadion or Gröndals Motorstadion is a motorcycle speedway stadium located outside of Eskilstuna, Sweden. The stadium was opened in 2002 and is the home arena of Elitserien team Smederna who compete in the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. History The stadium was opened on 27 April 2002. The stadium was formerly known as Ikarosstadion from 2008 to 2009 due to sponsorship reasons from the company Ikaros. The stadium has hosted a World Championship round called the Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and the Swedish Individual Speedway Championship in 2002.
