Slobodan Kovačević
Slobodan "Bodo" Kovačević (29 December 1946 – 22 March 2004) was a rock guitarists in former Yugoslavia. He began his musical career in the early sixties with the Sarajevo band "Wanderers" and few years later in the mid sixties joined Indexi, where Davorin Popović was already a singer. Biography In 1978, together with other members of Indexi, he received the April 6 Award from the city of Sarajevo. That same year, he won the JRT (Yugoslav Radio and Television) award for his thematic masterpiece concept album "Dark-Blue River", which was declared album of the year in Yugoslavia. In 2004, he received the Davorin Award for best instrumentalist in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Indexi
Indexi was a Bosnian and former Yugoslav rock band popular in Yugoslavia. It formed in 1962 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and disbanded in 2001 when singer Davorin Popović died. Some of their most notable songs are "Svijet u kome živim" and "Negdje u kraju, u zatišju" with lyrics by Želimir Altarac Čičak, "Plima", "Sve ove godine", "Sanjam" and "Bacila je sve niz rijeku", which was later covered by many other ex-Yugoslavian groups, notably Crvena jabuka. Indexi formed in 1962, and their name was derived from the "Indeks" which was a student's grade log. They began by making instrumental covers of popular hits, but in 1967 started composing. ''Pjesma Mediterana'' ( sh-Cyrl, Пјесма Медитерана, lit=Song of the Mediterranean; formerly ''Music Festival Budva'', sh-Latn-Cyrl, Muzički festival Budva, Музички фестивал Будва) was a pop music festival held every summer in Budva Budva (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Будва, or ) is a town in the Coastal Montenegro, Coastal region of Montenegro. It had 27,445 inhabitants as of 2023, and is the centre of Budva Municipality. The coastal area around Budva, called the Budv ..., Montenegro until 2011. The festival began in 1992. Davorin Popović
Davorin Popović (23 September 1946 – 18 June 2001) was a Bosnian singer and songwriter. Born in Sarajevo and well known throughout the former Yugoslavia, he is considered to be one of the greatest rock singers of the region. Popović was the lead singer and frontman of the progressive and pop rock band Indexi throughout most of their career. The band would become founders of a specific music style in the former Yugoslavia, known as "Sarajevo pop-rock school", which later influenced other bands and singers in Sarajevo and other parts of Yugoslavia. Biography Popović was born on 23 September 1946 in Sarajevo, FPR Yugoslavia, present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina. His close lifelong friendship with renowned basketball player Mirza Delibašić led to the duo becoming inextricably linked to the bohemian lifestyle of Sarajevo. Bare Cemetery
The Bare Cemetery is a cemetery complex in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina opened in 1965, with the first funeral and interment occurring on 3 January 1966. The central part of the cemetery is a spacious plateau with a staircase and a porch that connects the Catholic Church, Catholic, Eastern Orthodoxy, Orthodox, Islam, Muslim, Judaism, Jewish and atheist chapels, designed by Smiljan Klaić, and the frescoes in the porch were painted by Rizah Štetić.
