Sloan Hendrix School District is a public school district based in Imboden, Arkansas. The district serves more than 700 students in prekindergarten through grade 12 while employing more than 110 educators and staff at its three schools and district offices. Imboden, Arkansas
Imboden is a city in Lawrence County, Arkansas, Lawrence County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 677 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census. It is named after a family of settlers. History The community was first settled around 1828 and was incorporated in 1887. In 1912, Imboden elected Joe Sullivan as the youngest elected mayor in the United States of that period. He was 21 years old and paralyzed, so relied on a goat-driven cart. He left the town in 1914 to pursue further education. Imboden has two public schools. Sloan-Hendrix School was established in 1899 as Sloan-Hendrix Academy, a private school affiliated with Hendrix College in Conway. It later became a public school. Ravenden, Arkansas
Ravenden is a town in Lawrence County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 470 at the 2010 census. The town is in the valley of the Spring River along U.S. Highway 63 and the Burlington-Northern Railroad. History The area was first settled by Americans in 1858, but did not see any major economic development until 1883, when the Kansas City, Fort Scott and Memphis Railroad built their main line through the area. Ravenden Springs
Ravenden Springs is a town in Randolph County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 119 at the 2020 census. History The town was established in 1883 by businessman R. D. Welsh, who visited the area upon hearing stories about a local Methodist Minister, William Bailey, that claimed to have found healing springs that to a recurring dream. Welsh, impressed with what he saw in the area, organized a stock company to build a resort town around the springs. The town gained many seasonal visitors by the turn of the century, but by the 1930s it began to decline.
