Slaughter Beach, Dog is an indie rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed by former Modern Baseball co-lead vocalist Jake Ewald in 2014. Initially starting as one of Ewald's solo projects during his tenure with Modern Baseball, the group was realized after Modern Baseball went on indefinite hiatus. The lineup originally featured vocalist and guitarist Jake Ewald, bassist Ian Farmer (also from Modern Baseball), guitarist Nick Harris (departed in 2020) from All Dogs, and Superheaven drummer Zack Robbins. Background The group had its beginnings as a solo project by Modern Baseball co-lead vocalist Jake Ewald after encountering writer's block. Jake Ewald
Jacob Starnes Ewald (born February 28, 1993) is an American musician. He is best known as a founding member, co-lead vocalist, and guitarist of the emo band Modern Baseball. He is also the lead vocalist and guitarist of the folk-rock band Slaughter Beach, Dog, a solo project he began while still active in Modern Baseball. In addition to his performance work, Ewald has contributed to various recordings as a producer and audio engineer. Music career Modern Baseball Ewald, along with Bren Lukens, co-founded the band Modern Baseball in 2011. The duo were encouraged to start writing music together by Ewald's twin sister. Modern Baseball (sometimes abbreviated as MoBo) was an American emo band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, consisting of Bren Lukens, Jake Ewald, Sean Huber, and Ian Farmer. The band formed in 2012 at Drexel University and released their first album, ''Sports'', on Lame-O Records that same year. Their following albums, ''You're Gonna Miss It All'' and ''Holy Ghost'', were released on Run For Cover Records in 2014 and 2016 respectively. The group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2017. Slaughter Beach is an Indie pop band, formed in Odense, Denmark. The band comprises Nikolaj Westi, Mads Emil Aagaard and Hasse Mydtskov. History The band released their first tracks "Made-Up True Love" and "Spinning Globe" in 2013, via their SoundCloud page. In 2015 their track "Nuked" appeared and later that year their debut- EP "Love/Venice" was released. Slaughter Beach is a town in Sussex County, Delaware, Sussex County, Delaware, United States, located on the southwest shore of Delaware Bay. Its members are singer/guitarist Maryn Jones, who has also played with Saintseneca, drummer Jesse Wither, who has also played with the punk band Delay, bassist Amanda Bartley of the band Swearin’, and guitarist Nick Harris, who also played in the Philadelphia based band Slaughter Beach, Dog.
