Slammiversary (2022)
The 2022 Slammiversary was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by Impact Wrestling. It took place on June 19, 2022 at The Asylum in Nashville, Tennessee. It celebrated the promotion's 20th anniversary, with the show being held exactly 20 years to the date of Impact's very first event, and was the 18th event under the Slammiversary chronology. Ten matches were contested at the event, with two matches contested on the pre-show and one that was a digital exclusive. In the main event, Josh Alexander defeated Eric Young to retain the Impact World Championship. Josh Alexander (wrestler)
Joshua Lemay (born May 29, 1987) is a Canadian professional wrestler better known by the ring name Josh Alexander. He is currently signed with Impact Wrestling, where he is the current Impact World Champion in his second reign. He is also a former Impact X Division Champion. King Of The Mountain Match
The King of the Mountain match (Queen of the Mountain when female wrestlers are involved) is a professional wrestling match exclusive to Impact Wrestling (formerly Total Nonstop Action Wrestling). Match format The five competitors in the match start out as "ineligible" to win. In order to become "eligible", a wrestler must score a pinfall or submission on an opponent. The opponent who submits or is pinned is forced to spend two minutes in the "penalty box" cage. More than one wrestler can be in the cage. This often results in wrestlers fighting inside the cage or forming some sort of alliance. Once "eligible", the wrestler may win the match by retrieving the match's prize (usually a championship belt) and hanging it on the hook suspended above the ring with the aid of ladders stationed outside the ring. Dixie Carter (wrestling)
Dixie Carter-Salinas (born October 6, 1964) is an American businesswoman best known for her time as president of the professional wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) where she is still a board member. Carter was in a backstage role during her early time with the company, though began to appear on TNA programming from 2009, and became an on-screen storyline character from 2010. In 2012, Carter purchased the majority share of TNA from Panda Energy International, making her the majority owner. In 2016, Billy Corgan succeeded Carter as president, with Carter becoming chairwoman of the promotion. James Storm
James Allen Cox (born June 1, 1977) is an American professional wrestler better known by the ring name James Storm. He is best known for his time in Impact Wrestling. He started his career in 1997 and after working on several independent promotions, he began to wrestle for the newly created NWA Total Nonstop Action promotion. Storm participated in TNA's first event and became a tag team with Chris Harris, America's Most Wanted (AMW). Much like the singles match, tag team professional wrestling matches can and have taken many forms. Just about any singles or melee match type can be adapted to tag teams; for example, hardcore tag team matches are commonplace. Tag team ladder match and variations are also frequently used as a title feud blow-off match. Stipulations, such as " I quit" or "loser leaves town" may also be applied. Honor No More was a villainous professional wrestling stable appeared in the American promotion Impact Wrestling. The group was led by Eddie Edwards and was composed of former Ring of Honor (ROH) wrestlers. History On October 27, 2021, Ring of Honor announced that it would go on a hiatus after Final Battle in December of that year. All personnel would be released from their contracts as part of plans to "reimagine" the company as a "fan-focused product". The Impact World Tag Team Championship (formally known as the TNA World Tag Team Championship) is a professional wrestling world tag team championship which is owned by the Impact Wrestling promotion.
