Slagelse DT
Slagelse Dream Team was a team handball, handball team from the town of Slagelse, Denmark. It is sometimes referred to as "Slagelse Dream Team" or just "Slagelse DT", and is the professional first team for the handball club Slagelse Forenede Håndboldklubber (Slagelse FH). The club was catapulted into the limelight in 2000 when Anja Andersen took the head coach job and in a very short time led the women's team to the first Danish victory in the Women's EHF Champions League final in 2004. History Slagelse Forenede Håndboldklubber was created by a merger of the two clubs Slagelse HK and Marievang IF who each had their own success, especially on youth level. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a Handball goalkeeper, goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. Bojana Popović
Bojana Popović née Petrović, (born 20 November 1979) is a handball coach and a retired Montenegrin handballer. She is considered by many to be the best female handball player of the 2000's, despite not being given any official recognition. After winning the Women's EHF Champions League with Budućnost and a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games with the Montenegro national team, Bojana Popović decided to retire from handball. However, in June 2016 Popović announced she would come out of retirement and make herself available for selection by the Montenegro national handball team to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Cecilie Leganger
Cecilie Leganger (born 12 March 1975) is a Norwegian retired handballer. Regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, Leganger won the 1998 European Championship and the 1999 World Championship with the Norwegian national team, and received the IHF World Player of the Year award in 2001. At club level, Leganger won 27 titles playing for clubs in Norway, Slovenia and Denmark, including three EHF Champions League titles. She made her debut for the Norwegian national team in 1993 at age 17. Mia Terese Hundvin (born 7 March 1977) is a Norwegian former handball player. Career Hundvin played 72 matches for Norway's national handball team in addition to playing for professional clubs. She was part of national teams that won the European Women's Handball Championship in 1998, the World Women's Handball Championship in 1999, and Olympic bronze in 2000. Mette Melgaard (born 3 June 1980 in Rønde, Syddjurs, Denmark) is a Danish handball coach and former player. She was the assistant coach for Team Esbjerg in the Danish Damehåndboldligaen from 2017 to 2019. At the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship she reached the bronze final and placed fourth with the Danish team.
