''Skullage'' is a compilation/live album by American heavy metal band Black Label Society, although the first two songs are from Zakk Wylde's solo career and side project Pride & Glory (band), Pride & Glory. Some versions also come with a bonus DVD. This is the third compilation released to document Wylde's catalogue, the first being the promotional-only ''No More Tears (E.P.), No More Tears'' EP, followed by ''Kings of Damnation 98–04'' in 2005. Pride & Glory (band)
Pride & Glory was a side project formed by vocalist/guitarist Zakk Wylde (previously of Ozzy Osbourne) and White Lion members James LoMenzo and Greg D'Angelo. It was the first project for which Wylde also served as lead vocalist, prior to releasing his first solo-album, 1996's '' Book of Shadows''. Wylde subsequently formed the band Black Label Society in 1998, which remains active. Pride & Glory released one self-titled studio album before disbanding in 1994. They reunited for a one-off show in 1998. History Formed in 1991 during what was then billed as Ozzy Osbourne's farewell tour following the 1991 '' No More Tears'' album, Wylde recruited the former White Lion rhythm section of bassist James LoMenzo and drummer Greg D'Angelo, and originally wanted to name the Southern rock-inspired project Lynyrd Skynhead. Zakk Wylde
Zachary Phillip Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt; January 14, 1967) is an American rock musician. He is best known as the lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and as the founder, lead guitarist, lead singer, songwriter and producer of the heavy metal band Black Label Society. Wylde's signature bulls-eye design appears on many of his guitars and is widely recognized. He was also the lead guitarist and vocalist of Pride & Glory, who released one self-titled album in 1994 before disbanding. As a solo artist, he released the albums '' Book of Shadows'' and '' Book of Shadows II''. Wylde joined the reunited Pantera in 2022 as a touring guitarist. ''Shot to Hell'' is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Black Label Society. It was released September 12, 2006, and was the band's first record released by Roadrunner Records. Track listing Production According to Zakk Wylde, the band "just came in here and started knocking it out. That's how you make records." The cover art was originally of three nuns with shotguns (as seen in the advertisements handed out at Ozzfest 2006), but it was deemed inappropriate and was changed to three nuns playing a game of pool. The version with shotguns was used as the cover of the "Concrete Jungle" single. ''Order of the Black'' is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Black Label Society. It was released in North America on August 10, 2010, through E1 Music. In New Zealand and Australia, it was released by Riot Entertainment (with special cover art) and in Europe through Roadrunner Records. Release The first single "Parade of the Dead" was released on June 16. The second single of the album entitled "Crazy Horse" was released next day via iTunes. On August 9, 2010, ''Order of the Black'' was premiered at Rockline Radio, hosted by Bob Coburn. The same date, the album was posted to AOL music for streaming in its entirety (minus bonus tracks). Black Label Society is an American heavy metal/southern metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1998 by guitarist/singer Zakk Wylde. To date, the band has released eleven studio albums, two live albums, two compilation albums, one EP, and three video albums. History ''Sonic Brew'' and formation (1998–1999) In the early 1990s, Wylde had formed his own solo band Pride & Glory, playing a mixture of bluesy Southern rock with heavy metal. "In This River" is a song by American heavy metal band Black Label Society, a power ballad featured on their 2005 sixth studio album ''Mafia''. Performed entirely by guitarist, vocalist and pianist Zakk Wylde (who also wrote and produced the song), it was released as the third single from the album and reached number 32 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. "Stillborn" is a song by American heavy metal band Black Label Society from the album '' The Blessed Hellride''. It was also released as a single. Zakk Wylde's own vocal style also became quite similar to Ozzy Osbourne's for this record, while Osbourne was featured in the song on chorus singing with Wylde the lines, "The feelings I once felt are now Dead and gone. I've waited here for you for so very long." "Stillborn" tells the story of a man whose girlfriend treats him so poorly and takes so much advantage of him that his love for her dies, leaving him feeling dead as well. Wylde insists that it is not autobiographical and that if any girl were to treat him like that, he would simply break up with her. ''1919 Eternal'' (also stylized as ''1919''★''Eternal'') is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Black Label Society. It was released on March 5, 2002, and was written for Zakk Wylde's father. Writing Five songs from the album sessions were written by Zakk Wylde for Ozzy Osbourne's album '' Down to Earth''. Osbourne rejected the songs because they were "too Black Label", so Wylde kept them for this album. The songs were "Bleed for Me", "Life, Birth, Blood, Doom", "Demise of Sanity", an alternate piano version of "Bridge to Cross", and a demo called "Find a Way". The latter two were never released. These original demo songs featured drummer Christian Werr, a friend of Wylde's who happened to be in the right place at the right time to record the tracks.
