Skrova is a small island group and village area in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. Village The fishing village of Skrova lies on the northern part of the island group. It exists mostly on the island of ''Heimskrova'', but also includes parts of five other islands, including the northwestern edge of the large islands of Skrova. The village is connected to the town of Svolvær (also in Vågan Municipality) and the village of Skutvika (in Hamarøy Municipality on the mainland) by regularly scheduled ferry routes. The village has a population (2017) of 182, with nearly all the residents living in the village and the rest of the island group being virtually uninhabited. The village gained privileged trading rights in 1760, and for a long time, it was the largest fishing village in Lofoten. Industry The main industry in Skrova is fishing, fish farming, and whaling. Skrova Lighthouse
Skrova Lighthouse () is a coastal lighthouse in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on a small skerry southwest of the island of Skrova which is in the Vestfjorden south of the island of Austvågøya. History Skrova Lighthouse was designed by Carl Wiig in 1920, and a team of carpenters from Volda was hired to build it. It was first established in 1922 and it was automated in 2005. Stormolla
Stormolla or Molla is an island in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Lofoten islands, south of the large islands of Austvågøya and Hinnøya and northeast of the smaller islands of Litlmolla and Skrova. The highest point on the island is the tall mountain Heggedalstinden. The island has a ferry connection from the northern tip of the island to the village of Digermulen on the neighboring island of Hinnøya. Austvågøya
Austvågøya is the northeasternmost and largest of the larger islands in the Lofoten archipelago in Nordland county, Norway. It is located between the Vestfjorden and the Norwegian Sea. The island of Vestvågøya lies to the southwest and the large island of Hinnøya to the northeast. In 2017, the island had about 9,000 residents. Most of the island is part of Vågan Municipality, while the northeastern part belongs to Hadsel Municipality. The main town on the island is Svolvær. Austvågøya is popular among mountain climbers. Vestfjorden
Vestfjorden (; sometimes shortened to ''Vestfjord'' in English) is a long fjord or oceanic sea in Nordland county, Norway. The name literally means "the west fjord", although it is called a fjord, it could best be described as a firth or an open bight of sea. The "fjord" lies between the Lofoten archipelago and the Salten district of mainland Norway. The term fjord (from the old Norse meaning firth or inlet) is used in a more general way for bodies of water in the western Scandinavian languages than the more narrow usage commonly used in English.
