Skrape
Skrape was an American nu metal band formed in Orlando, Florida in 1997. History Skrape originally formed in 1997 under the name "Jojo", they later renamed to "Skrape" two years later. Drummer Will Hunt said he became inspired to form his own band while touring Europe with Stuck Mojo during late 1996, and seeing how enthusiastic crowds were towards the band Life of Agony, who they were performing alongside. New Killer America
''New Killer America'' is the debut album by the five-piece nu metal/alternative metal music group Skrape. The album was released on March 20, 2001 via RCA Records. Background, recording and promotion Skrape were signed to RCA Records in October 1999, and commenced recording their debut ''New Killer America'' in 2000. They had originally formed in Orlando, Florida during 1997 under the name "Jojo", having only played a small number of shows together prior to getting signed. Once signed, the band played no shows over the next nine to ten months, as they spent this period of time focusing on the making of the album. The songs "Broken Knees", "Blow Up", "Goodbye", "Kill Control", "Sunshine", "Waste" and "What You Say" were all rerecorded for ''New Killer America'', having previously appeared on the 1999 demo which caught the attention of RCA Records. Will Hunt
William Hunt (born September 5, 1971) is an American drummer. He has been a member of rock band Evanescence since 2007, and has also played for Skrape, Dark New Day, Black Label Society, Vasco Rossi, Device, Crossfade, Staind, Static-X, Slaughter, and Godsmack. Career He looks up to Tommy Lee, John Bonham, Peter Criss, Abe Cunningham, and Stewart Copeland as his influences to his drumming. One of Hunt's earliest bands was Axe Attack, formed during 1988 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was also the second drummer in Tallahassee band Witt's End, a cover band that played several club gigs. This was the first band for all the members of Witt's End that earned them a living, making it the first professional band for all of them. Amongst sitting in with other local North Florida bands, he was also in the band Eli and recorded ''Push It Hard'' in 1990. ''Up the Dose'' is the second and final album by the five-piece Orlando metal group Skrape. It was released in 2004 by RCA Records, with the breaking up shortly afterwards after getting dropped by the label. Release It was released on January 13, 2004, after initially being scheduled for a September 2003 release. The album still has a 2003 copyright date on the back of the CD, as is treated as a 2003 album on some websites, such as Allmusic and Spotify. Reception Allmusic's Johnny Loftus gave the album two and a half stars, stating that it tries to "build fully on the promise of "Goodbye" and "Kill Control" from 2001's ''New Killer America'', tracks that cracked the nu-metal mold with stratospheric vocals from Billy Keeton and slight twinges of Deftones psychedelics." Dark New Day was an American hard rock supergroup formed in 2004 featuring Brett Hestla of Virgos Merlot, Clint Lowery of Sevendust, Troy McLawhorn of DoubleDrive, Corey Lowery of Stereomud and Stuck Mojo, and Will Hunt of Skrape.
