Shangrila Resort
Lower Kachura Lake, also known as Shangrila Lake, is a lake located near the city of Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Situated at the height of , it has had an operational resort for tourists on its bank since 1983. Through the architectural work of the resort and the background Karakoram hills, the landscapes of the lake make it one of the attractive tourist destinations within the northern Pakistan. Shangrila Resort Shangrila Resort Hotel was established in 1983 with the opening of the first resort hotel in Skardu. The Shangrila Resort Hotel was founded by Aslam Khan Afridi, a Pakistani military officer who served as the first commander of the Northern Scouts of the Pakistan Army. Skardu Valley
The Skardu Valley () is located in Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. The valley is about 10 km wide and 40 km long. It is at the confluence of the Shigar River and Indus River. Surrounded by the giagantic Karakoram and Himalayas ranges and with its nearby lakes, it is an important tourist destination in Pakistan. Skardu is the main town of Baltistan along the wide bank of the river Indus. Skardu is the largest district of the Northern Areas. Baltistan is home to some of the highest peaks in the world, the Karakoram Range, Skardu is very popular with Mountaineering Expeditions. Deosai National Park
Deosai National Park () is a high-altitude alpine climate, alpine plain and national park located between the Skardu District and Astore District in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Manthokha Waterfall
Manthokha Waterfall also spelt Manthoka Waterfall, is a waterfall located in the Kharmang Valley, Skardu, in Gilgit-Baltistan, in the extreme northern region of Pakistan. Balti Language
Balti (Perso-Arabic script: , Tibetan script: སྦལ་ཏི།, ) is a Tibetic language natively spoken by the ethnic Balti people in the Baltistan region of Gilgit-Baltistan, Nubra Valley of the Leh district and in the Kargil district of Ladakh, India. The language differs from Standard Tibetan; many sounds of Old Tibetan that were lost in Standard Tibetan are retained in the Balti language. It also has a simple pitch accent system only in multi-syllabic words while Standard Tibetan has a complex and distinct pitch system that includes tone contour. Due to effects of dominant languages in Pakistani media like Urdu, Punjabi and English and religious impact of Arabic and Persian languages, Balti, like other regional languages of Pakistan, is continuously expanding its vocabulary base with loanwords. There are 14 districts in Gilgit–Baltistan, five in Baltistan Division, five in Gilgit Division and four in Diamer Division.
