Sjoerd De Jong
Sjoerd De Jong, also known as Hourences, is a Dutch-Belgian video game developer, level designer and the founder of Teotl Studios. He serves as technology evangelist for Epic Games, promoting Unreal Engine 4 in the northern half of Europe. Career De Jong started making Level (video gaming), levels for video games at the age of 15, when he purchased a copy of ''Unreal (1998 video game), Unreal'' in 1999. Shortly after, he started to make a name for himself in the ''Unreal (video game series), Unreal'' community, not only for the many maps he released, but also for his work on popular ''Unreal Tournament'' Mod (video gaming), mods such as "Operation Na Pali", "Xidia" and "Jailbreak". With a few more custom maps and contributions to mods for ''Unreal Tournament 2003'', he was contracted by Epic Games to create 6 maps for ''Unreal Tournament 2004'', two of which were included in the Game demo, demo. ''The Chronicles of Spellborn'' was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) initially released on November 27, 2008, developed by Spellborn International and distributed by Frogster Interactive, Mindscape and Acclaim Games; set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world. ''Warpath'' is a first-person shooter video game developed by Digital Extremes. The game was originally being developed as a sequel to '' Pariah'', but since ''Pariah'' was a commercial flop, ''Warpath'' continued development as a whole new game. However, the similarities between the gameplay of both games are very apparent. Technology The game utilizes Unreal Engine 2 with optimizations and additions of the 2.5 Build (the same used for '' Unreal Championship 2'' and '' Pariah'') and the Havok physics engine. Demo A demo for the PC version of ''Warpath'' was released on March 1, 2006. The demo included two maps: Breach for Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch, and Rush for Capture The Flag.
