Deap Vally are an American rock music, rock duo, formed in Los Angeles, California in 2011. The group consists of Lindsey Troy (guitar, vocals) and Julie Edwards (drums, vocals). They have released four albums, four EPs, and a number of singles. Two of their albums charted on the UK Albums Chart. History Deap Vally formed in 2011 and is made up of Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards, originally from San Fernando Valley, California. Edwards was a member of The Pity Party, while Troy was performing in Los Angeles as a solo artist. Edwards met Troy at a crochet class in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. In July 2012, they released their first single, "Gonna Make My Own Money", on Ark Recordings, while they made their London debut in the same month. ''Marriage'' is the third studio album by American rock duo Deap Vally. It was released on November 19, 2021, via Cooking Vinyl. The album title alludes to the way both members see their relationship as bandmates; at one point they even attended couples therapy. In order to reduce their sense of boredom with the band, they decided to work with guests. ''Marriage'' features collaborations with KT Tunstall, Peaches, Jennie Vee ( Eagles of Death Metal), Ayse Hassan ( Savages), Jenny Lee Lindberg ( Warpaint) and Jamie Hince (The Kills). They have referred to the album as their " rumspringa". The duo asked the collaborators to feel no pressure, wanting the songs to be free and uncommitted to specific genres. DEAP (Dark matter Experiment using Argon Pulse-shape discrimination) is a direct dark matter search experiment which uses liquid argon as a target material. DEAP utilizes background discrimination based on the characteristic scintillation pulse-shape of argon. A first-generation detector (DEAP-1) with a 7 kg target mass was operated at Queen's University to test the performance of pulse-shape discrimination at low recoil energies in liquid argon. DEAP-1 was then moved to SNOLAB, 2 km below Earth's surface, in October 2007 and collected data into 2011. DEAP-3600 was designed with 3600 kg of active liquid argon mass to achieve sensitivity to WIMP-nucleon scattering cross-sections as low as 10−46 cm2 for a dark matter particle mass of 100 GeV/c2. The DEAP-3600 detector finished construction and began data collection in 2016. An incident with the detector forced a short pause in the data collection in 2016.
