Sir Theophilius Finch, 2nd Baronet
Sir Theophilus Finch, 2nd Baronet (2 October 1573 – ) was an English nobleman and politician. Early life Finch was born on 2 October 1573. He was the eldest son of Sir Moyle Finch, 1st Baronet, and Elizabeth Finch, ''suo jure'' Countess of Winchilsea. Among his younger siblings were Thomas Finch (later the 2nd Earl of Winchilsea who married Cicely Wentworth), Sir Heneage Finch (later Speaker of the House of Commons), Francis Finch (a barrister who was an MP for Eye), and Lady Catherine Finch (who married Sir John Wentworth, 1st Baronet, of Gosfield). His maternal grandparents were Anne Poyntz (a daughter of Sir Nicholas Poyntz) and Sir Thomas Heneage, who was Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Vice-Chamberlain of the Household in the latter years of the reign of Elizabeth I. Sir Moyle Finch, 1st Baronet
Sir Moyle Finch, 1st Baronet Justice of the Peace, JP ( – 18 December 1614) was an English politician, knight, sheriff, and MP. Early life Finch was the second, but eldest surviving son, of Thomas Finch (soldier), Sir Thomas Finch of Eastwell, Kent, and the former Catherine Moyle. Among his siblings was brother Henry Finch (died 1625), Henry Finch (MP for Canterbury (UK Parliament constituency), Canterbury and St Albans (UK Parliament constituency), St Albans), and sister Jane Finch (who married George Wyatt (writer), George Wyatt of Allington, Kent, Allington Castle). Finch-Hatton Family
Earl of Winchilsea is a title in the Peerage of England. It has been held by the Finch-Hatton family of Kent, and united with the title of Earl of Nottingham under a single holder since 1729. The Finch family is believed to be descended from Henry FitzHerbert, Lord Chamberlain to Henry I (r. 1100–1135). The name change to Finch came in the 1350s after marriage to an heiress of the Finch family. The Herbert family of Wales, Earls of Aylesford, Earls of Pembroke, share common ancestry but bear differenced arms. A later member of the family, Sir William Finch, was knighted in 1513. Edward Owner
Edward Owner (1576–1650) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1621 and 1648. He supported the Parliamentary cause in the English Civil War. In 1621, Owner was elected Member of Parliament for Great Yarmouth. He was alderman and bailiff of Yarmouth in 1625, and closely connected to its Presbyterian faction, his daughter marrying the minister John Brinsley and was also re-elected MP for the town in the same year. He was bailiff again in 1634 when he was the cause of offence. The bailiffs of the Cinque Ports were accustomed to attend the fair at Yarmouth but in this year Owner refused them their usual seat. They petitioned the Earl of Arundel who settled the matter but recommended "a more courteous carriage, and friendly demeanor, in future."
