Sir Robert Parker, 1st Baronet (ca. 1655 – 30 November 1691) of Ratton, Sussex was an English politician. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Hastings from 1679 to 1685. Ratton, Sussex
Hampden Park is a suburb of Eastbourne. It is notable for its unique railway station, where local trains on the East Coastway Line stop twice, and is thought to be the busiest level crossing in Europe This station, now known as Hampden Park station, was once named ' Willingdon Halt'. Attractions Hampden Park itself is a large pleasant space with a fair sized lake. There is a park cafe called Lakeside Cafe, a children's playground, outdoor tennis courts, playing fields and plenty of routes for joggers and strollers, as well as a large area of sports fields. The area is the home of Eastbourne Rugby Club and two bowls clubs are nearby. Its main inhabitants are the grey squirrel, and several species inhabit the lake, notably mallard ducks, Canada geese, mute swans, moorhen, herons, gulls and the rock pigeon. Denny Ashburnham
Sir Denny Ashburnham, 1st Baronet (c.1628 – 11 December 1697) was an English landowner and politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1660 and 1689. Background Ashburnham was the eldest son of Lawrence Ashburnham of Broomham Park, Guestling, Sussex, and his second wife, Bridget Fleetwood, daughter of Sir George Fleetwood. His paternal grandfather was Adam Ashburnham, who sat in the Parliament of England. Career Ashburnham was a Commissioner for the Militia and became a Justice of the Peace for Sussex in March 1660. In April 1660, he was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Hastings in the Convention Parliament. He was re-elected MP for Hastings in 1661 for the Cavalier Parliament. On 15 May 1661, he was created a baronet, of Bromham, in the County of Sussex. Edmund Waller, Fellow of the Royal Society, FRS (3 March 1606 – 21 October 1687) was an English poet and politician who was Member of Parliament for various constituencies between 1624 and 1687, and one of the longest serving members of the English House of Commons. Son of a wealthy lawyer with extensive estates in Buckinghamshire, Waller first entered Parliament of England, Parliament in 1624, although he played little part in the political struggles of the period prior to the First English Civil War in 1642. Unlike his relatives William Waller, William and Hardress Waller, he was Cavalier, Royalist in sympathy and was accused in 1643 of organising a plot to seize London for Charles I of England, Charles I. John Ashburnham, 1st Baron Ashburnham
John Ashburnham, 1st Baron Ashburnham (15 January 1656 – 21 January 1710) was an English landowner and politician. Ashburnham was the son of William Ashburnham and the grandson of John Ashburnham. His mother was the Honourable Elizabeth, daughter of John Poulett, 1st Baron Poulett. He sat as Member of Parliament for Hastings from 1679 to 1681 and again from 1685 to 1689. As a baron of the Cinque Ports he was one of the holders of the canopy at the coronation of James II in 1685 and coronation of William and Mary in 1688. He is thought to have become disillusioned with James and to have welcomed the accession of William and Mary. In 1689 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Ashburnham, of Ashburnham in the County of Sussex. He later served as Custos Rotulorum of Breconshire from 1702 to 1710. Thomas Mun (c. 1645 – 15 February 1692) was an English politician. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Hastings from 1681 to 1685 and again from 1689 to 1690. Life He was the son of John Mun (1615–1670), who was the son of Thomas Mun the writer on economics. He inherited Snailham in Icklesham, Sussex. He was M.P. for Hastings in the last parliament of Charles II, held at Oxford in 1681, and again in the Convention parliament, 1689.
