Sir Francis Blundell, 3rd Baronet
Sir Francis Blundell, 3rd Baronet (30 January 1643 – 1707) was an Irish baronet and politician. He was the son of Sir George Blundell, 2nd Baronet and his wife Sarah Colley, daughter of Sir William Colley. In 1675, he succeeded his father as baronet. The year before he and his two brothers William and Winwood killed Thomas Preston, 3rd Viscount Tara, but were acquitted of his murder and subsequently pardoned by the king. Following the Glorious Revolution in 1689, he was attainted by the Parliament of King James II of England. In 1692, Blundell was returned to the Irish House of Commons for King's County, and represented the constituency until his death in 1707. Viscount Blundell
Viscount Blundell was a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created in 1720 for Sir Montague Blundell, 4th Baronet, Member of Parliament for Haslemere between 1715 and 1722. He was made Baron Blundell, of Edenderry in the King's County, at the same time, also in the Peerage of Ireland. He had no surviving male issue and the titles became extinct on his death in 1756. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century; however, in its current usage it was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. William Purefoy (c. 1580 – 8 Sep 1659) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons of England variously between 1628 and 1659. Robert Echlin (British Army Officer)
Lieutenant-General Robert Echlin ( 1657 – 1723) was an Irish officer of the British Army, who for many years commanded the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons He also sat in the Irish House of Commons and the House of Commons of Great Britain. In later life, embittered by his chronic state of poverty, lack of professional advancement and failing military career, he espoused the Jacobite cause, and died in exile in France. He was the first owner of the famous Echlin Sword.
