Sinnflut is a German band. The name means flood of sense. The pronunciation is similar to the Great Flood and plays with meaning of the church. History From its beginning, Sinnflut has had only two members - Magnus Bartsch, songwriter, vocalist and piano player, and Manuel Bartsch, songwriter, vocalist, lyricist and programmer. Relatives Menschsein is a German darkwave band formed in 1990 by the musicians Amadeus, Lissy Mödl and Jörg Wolfgram. They are one of the first "Neue Deutsche Todeskunst" (''New German Death Art'') bands. They were signed to label Danse Macabre, founded by the members of Das Ich. History Their first singles were a unique blend of music and poetry that became popular in the Darkwave scene. The songs ''Tempel'', ''Glaube'' and ''Verflucht'' attracted enough attention for the band to get a record deal with Danse Macabre. Their first album, ''Gefallene Engel'', was released in Germany in 1992 on Danse Macabre. The album featured six tracks and was produced by Bruno Kramm. The band's next album, Die Ewigkeit, was released later in 1993. The album featured two more tracks, guest Thar on guitar and was mixed again by Bruno Kramm. Das Ich is a German dark wave/gothic- industrial band formed in 1989. The group, fronted by Stefan Ackermann and Bruno Kramm, were one of the prominent founders of and contributors to " Neue Deutsche Todeskunst" (''New German Death Art'') a musical movement in the early 1990s. The band is known for having a classically-inspired gothic-industrial style, for their on-stage theatrics, and their almost exclusive use of German-language lyrics. The German term ''Das Ich'' makes reference to the Freudian concept James Strachey translated as "ego" ( "The I"). History Bruno Kramm and Stefan Ackermann met in Bayreuth, Germany in 1989 at a nightclub called the "Crazy Elephant". Lacrimosa (band)
Lacrimosa is a Swiss rock duo led by German Tilo Wolff, the main composer, and Finn Anne Nurmi. They are currently based in Switzerland, but originally from Germany. Originally counted among the bands of the Neue Deutsche Todeskunst genre, Lacrimosa are most associated with the gothic metal and symphonic metal genres. Their musical style mixes gothic rock and heavy metal, along with violin, trumpet, and more classical instruments, although their musical development throughout the years has also led to changes in instrumentation. Lacrimosa's lyrics are written almost exclusively in German, although since the 1995 album ''Inferno'' every album has featured one or two songs in English, generally written by Anne Nurmi.
