Simón Bajour
Simón Bajour also Szymsia Bajour (born Szymon Bachórz; 4 April 1928, Nasierowo Górne or Nasielsk, Poland – 8 February 2005, Buenos Aires, Argentina) was a Jewish Polish-Argentine violinist who was known for both his popular and classical repertoires. Biography His father Szmuel (died 10 October 1951) sent Szymon as a child to the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw where he studied under Wilhelm Krysztal. He left with his parents in 1937 for Argentina where his father had previously lived and been naturalized, and Szymsia later studied under David Oistrakh in Moscow in 1963 and previously with Ljerko Spiller in Buenos Aires. Bajour was an original member of the first Quinteto of Astor Piazzolla together with Jaime Gosis, Kicho Díaz and Horacio Malvicino recording the first recording of the song Adiós Nonino. Leopoldo Federico (12 January 1927 – 28 December 2014) was an Argentine bandoneon player, arranger, director and composer. Life Born in the district of Once in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Federico was one of the most prolific bandoneonists in the history of tango. He was also a member of a number of many major orchestras of the 1940s and 50s, including those led by: Juan Carlos Cobián, Alfredo Gobbi, Víctor D'Amario, Osmar Maderna, Héctor Stamponi, Mariano Mores, Carlos di Sarli, Horacio Salgán and Aníbal Troilo. Julio Nudler (16 December 1941 – 27 July 2005) was an Argentine economic journalist. Nudler wrote for La Opinión, Clarín and La Razón before he became head of the economics section of Página/12 in 1990. In 2004 an article, in which he impeached Alberto Fernández who was the chief of the cabinet of Néstor Kirchner with corruption allegations, was not published by Página/12. Raúl Kaplún (November 11, 1910 - January 23, 1990) (born Israel Kaflún) was a well-known tango violinist, director and composer. Biography Raúl Kaplún was born in Balvanera, Buenos Aires to an itinerant Jewish hat salesman Leiser Finkel who had immigrated to Argentina from Bessarabia. Kaplun was sent to the cheder of the synagogue on Paso Street, as well as to study the violin from Marcos Sadoski. He later studied with José Fraga and later with the prestigious German . He was the author of ''Que solo estoy'', ''Canción de rango'', ''Una emoción'' and ''Solitario''. Kaplun refused to join the Peronist party, and as a result his band was barred from the radio. Julio Jorge Nelson (born Isaac Rosofsky; 27 April 1913 – 6 March 1976) was a leading Argentine tango musician. He helped establish the cult of Carlos Gardel and wrote several tangos. Biography Born in Buenos Aires into a Jewish family in 1913 as Isaac Rosofsky, he became famous as an adult with the pseudonym Julio Jorge Nelson. Isaac, the son of a shoemaker, was raised in Villa Crespo. His childhood home was at 225 Triunvirato, later renumbered and renamed as 4943 Corrientes, opposite the theater Florencio Sánchez. Immersed since childhood in the theatrical environment and in the emerging world of radio, at fourteen he decided not to study further, a decision that earned him being thrown out of the house by his parents.
