Silvretta Alps
The Silvretta Alps are a mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps shared by Tyrol (state), Tirol, Vorarlberg (both in Austria) and Graubünden (Switzerland). The Austrian States of Austria, states of Tirol and Vorarlberg are connected by a pass road (Silvretta Hochalpenstraße at 2032 m). The majority of the peaks are elevated above three thousand metres and are surrounded by glaciers. Thus, the area is also known as the "Blue Silvretta". Piz Linard
Piz Linard is a pyramid-shaped mountain of the Swiss Alps. At 3,410 m it is the highest peak of the Silvretta mountain range. It was first climbed on August 1, 1835, by the geologist and natural history, naturalist Oswald Heer led by Johann Madutz. There is a legend that a man of name "Chounard" reached the summit in 1572 carrying a large golden cross; however, the cross has never been found. Piz Linard is located between the valleys of ''Val Lavinuoz'' (east) and ''Val Saglains'' (west), both part of the basin of the Inn river in the Engadine valley. Paznaun
The Paznaun () is a valley in Tyrol, Austria, leading south-west from Pians (856 m) to the Bielerhöhe (2071 m), a mountain pass at the border of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. The Paznaun is watered by the Trisanna and surrounded by the Central Eastern Alps, specifically, the mountain ranges of Verwall in the north, Samnaun in the south-east and Silvretta in the south-west. The main villages in the Paznaun are See (1050m), Kappl (1226m), Ischgl (1377m) and Galtür (1586m). Today, the main economic activity in the valley is tourism, especially winter sports. Davos
Davos (, ; or ; ; Old ) is an Alpine resort town and municipality in the Prättigau/Davos Region in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It has a permanent population of (). Davos is located on the river Landwasser, in the Rhaetian Alps, between the Plessur and Albula Ranges. The municipality covers nearly the entire valley of the Landwasser, and the centre of population, economic activity and administration is two adjacent villages, ''Davos Dorf'' (engl.: Davos Village) and ''Davos Platz'' (Davos Place), which are above sea level. Flüela Pass
The Flüela Pass (, , elevation ) is a high mountain pass of the Swiss Alps in Graubünden. Traditionally considered the boundary between the Albula and Silvretta Alps, the pass crosses the watershed / drainage divide between the basins of the rivers Rhine and Danube. The pass is overlooked by the Flüela Schwarzhorn (Albula Alps) and the Flüela Wisshorn (Silvretta Alps). Inn River
The Inn (; ; ) is a river in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. The long river is a right tributary of the Danube, being the third largest tributary of the Danube by discharge. The highest point of its drainage basin is the summit of Piz Bernina at . The Engadine, the valley of the En, is the only Swiss valley whose waters end up in the Black Sea (via the Danube). Etymology The name Inn is derived from the old Celtic words ''en'' and '' enios'', meaning ''water''. In a document of 1338, the river was named ''Wasser'' (German for water). The first written mention from the years 105 to 109 (Publii Corneli Taciti historiarium liber tertius) reads: "''... Sextilius Felix... ad occupandam ripam Aeni fluminis, quod Raetos Noricosque interfluit, missus...''" ("... Val Sinestra
The Val Sinestra (Romansh language, Romansh lit.: "left valley") is a valley of the Swiss Alps, located in the Engadin between the Silvretta Alps, Silvretta and the Samnaun Alps, Samnaun ranges. The valley is drained by ''La Brancla'', a tributary of the Inn (river), Inn basin, near Ramosch. The highest mountains in the Val Sinestra are the Muttler (3,293 m), Piz Tschütta (3,254 m) and Piz Tasna (3,179 m). The valley is approximately 10 kilometres long. The valley belongs to the municipalities of Sent, Switzerland, Sent and Ramosch in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The main localities in Val Sinestra are Zuort and Vnà. The Val Sinestra is connected to the Val Fenga by the 2,608 metre high pass named ''Cuolmen d'Fenga''. There is also a Hotel from 1912 in the valley, which used to serve as a Spa, Kurhaus (spa house). The 2022 Dutch film ''Hotel Sinestra'' takes place at this hotel.
