Silvio Fernández (footballer)
Silvio Daer Fernández Dos Santos (born June 3, 1974, in Melo, Uruguay) is a Uruguayan former footballer who played as a striker. Playing career Fernández started his career with Nacional in 1996. Fernández highlighted as a player for Chilean club Santiago Wanderers after winning the 2001 Primera División. Coaching career Fernández started his coaching career with the Atlético Fernandino youth ranks in his homeland. After working in Guatemala, Fernández moved to Chile in 2015 and signed with General Velásquez alongside his former teammate in Santiago Wanderers, Jaime Riveros. In April 2017, he assumed as coach of the Santiago Wanderers first team after Eduardo Espinel was released. In 2020, he moved back to work to Guatemala. Melo () is the capital city of the Cerro Largo Department of north-eastern Uruguay. As of the census of 2023, it is the ninth most populated city of the country with a population of 56,013. The Segunda División Profesional is the second division of professional football in Uruguay, established in 1942. The league is sometimes referred to as ''Primera B''. Jaime Eduardo Riveros Valenzuela (, born 27 November 1970) is a Chilean former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Background He began his career in 1992 at Rancagua side O'Higgins, near Quinta de Tilcoco, town where Riveros was born. In his first full season, he was loaned to Deportes Santa Cruz on a season long deal. After impressing at second-tier club, he returned to O'Higgins the next season and broke into Manuel Pellegrini´s starting lineup in 1993.
