Silvia Weissteiner
Silvia Weissteiner (born 13 July 1979 in Sterzing/Vipiteno) is an Italian long-distance runner. Biography She is a two-time national champion in the women's 5000 metres. She represented Italy at the 2008 Summer Olympics, the 2012 Summer Olympics, and at the World Championships in Athletics in 2007 and 2009. Weissteiner was the runner-up at the European Cup 10000m in 2006 behind Elvan Abeylegesse. She won her first major continental medal at the 2007 European Athletics Indoor Championships. Her bronze medal performance with a run of 8:44.81 was a new Italian indoor record, marking an improvement of over twelve seconds for the distance. She has enjoyed success at the Mediterranean Games, having won consecutive 5000 m bronze medals at the 2005 and 2009 editions. Vivian Cheruiyot
Vivian Jepkemoi Cheruiyot (born 11 September 1983) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specialises in track and cross country running. She represented Kenya at the Summer Olympics in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2016, winning a silver medal at the 5000 m and bronze medal at the 10000 m at the 2012 Olympics, silver medal at the 10000 m and gold medal at the 5000 m at the 2016 Olympics, setting the new Olympic record in 5000 m event. BOClassic
The BOclassic is an annual road running competition over the distance of 10 kilometres for men and 5 kilometres for women. It is held on New Year's Eve in Bolzano, Italy. The competition has only elite races, competed between a limited number of runners, but over 10,000 spectators gather in the streets each year to witness the race. The race has been broadcast live on television by Italian channel Rai Sport Più. It was first held in 1975 under the title Corsa Internazionale di San Silvestro – inspired by the Saint Silvester Road Race in Brazil, it was the first European New Year's Eve road race ( Silvesterlauf). The third European Team Championships, took place on 18 and 19 June 2011. The Competition was divided between four divisions, with results determining promotion and relegation between them. 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France, from 4 to 6 March 2011. 577 athletes representing 46 countries competed at the championships. Twenty-six track and field events were contested, with the events programme divided equally between the genders. The first European Athletics Team Championships took place on 20 and 21 June 2009. 2008 European Athletics Indoor Cup
The 2008 European Athletics Indoor Cup was held on 16 February 2008 at the CSKA Universal Sports Hall in Moscow, Russia. It was the fourth and final edition of the indoor track and field meeting for international teams, which featured the six top performing nations from the 2007 European Cup and the top two from the European Cup First League. Great Britain and Northern Ireland did not send either a men's or women's team and they were replaced by Ukraine and Spain, respectively. The men's team from Greece also opted not to participate and they were replaced by Sweden (the third best finisher in the 2007 European A League).
