Gylfi Þór Sigurðsson (; transliterated as Gylfi Thor Sigurdsson; born 8 September 1989) is an Icelandic professional Association football, footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Besta deild karla club Knattspyrnufélagið Víkingur, Víkingur and the Iceland national football team, Iceland national team. Robbie Sigurðsson
Robert Michael Sigurðsson (born 18 October 1993) is an American-born Icelandic ice hockey player and a former member of the Icelandic men's national team. In 2017, he was named the Icelandic Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Year. Playing career Sigurðsson joined Skautafélag Reykjavíkur (SR) of the Icelandic Men's Hockey League during the 2011–12 season. He helped SR to the IHL finals where they lost to Skautafélagið Björninn. He returned to SR in 2014 helped them once again to the IHL finals. In game 4 of the finals, Sigurðsson had to be transported by ambulance to a hospital after a hard hit. Without him and Daníel S. Jón Sigurðsson (17 June 1811 – 7 December 1879) was the leader of the 19th century icelandic nationalism, Icelandic independence movement. Biography Born at Hrafnseyri, in Arnarfjörður in the Westfjords area of Iceland, he was the son of Þórdís Jónsdóttir and pastor Sigurður Jónsson. In 1833, he moved to Denmark to study grammar and history at the University of Copenhagen. While in Denmark, Jón developed syphilis and was bedridden for an extended period. According to historian , Jón showed little interest in politics prior to his bout of syphilis. After completing his education, Jón began to work at the Arnamagnæan Institute, which was then the home of the manuscripts of the Icelandic sagas. Ragnar Sigurðsson (born 19 June 1986) is an Icelandic former professional footballer who played as centre-back. Beginning his career with Fylkir, he went on to represent IFK Göteborg, Copenhagen, Krasnodar, Fulham, Rubin Kazan, Rostov, and Rukh Lviv before retiring at Fylkir in 2021. Valgeir Sigurðsson (born 18 June 1971) is an Icelandic record producer, mixer, composer, audio engineer and musician. Biography Coming from a musical background, Valgeir's fascination with recording technology led to a job in a small recording studio at the age of 16. He plays keyboards, bass, percussion, electronics/programming and studied classical guitar, graduating with a Tonmeister degree from London's SAE Institute. Sveinn Rúnar Sigurðsson (born 24 December 1976 in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic songwriter, music producer, and medical doctor, best known for having composed two Eurovision Song Contest entries for Iceland, "Heaven" by Jónsi in 2004 and " Valentine Lost" by Eiríkur Hauksson in 2007. Birgir Sigurðsson (28 August 1937 – 9 August 2019) was an Icelandic writer. A journalist and schoolteacher in Iceland from the early 1960s, studied classical singing in Amsterdam in the late sixties but returned to teaching in Reykjavík and writing prolifically on the side. He established himself as a playwright and a poet during the seventies and became a full-time writer during the early 1980s, translating Sam Shepard for the Icelandic National Theatre and Doris Lessing's The Grass is Singing, with whom he formed a lifelong friendship. With his play Dagur Vonar he cemented his reputation as one of Iceland's greatest dramatists. Later he turned to writing novels, popular history books and TV documentaries. Lárus Orri Sigurðsson (born 4 June 1973), known in English as ''Larus Sigurdsson'', is an Icelandic former professional footballer, who played most notably for Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion in England. Sigfús Sigurðsson (19 February 1922 – 21 August 1999) was an Icelandic athlete. He competed at the 1948 Olympics in the shot put and finished 12th with a throw of 13.66 m.
