Sigri Mitra Gaïni
Sigri Mitra Gaïni (Persian: سیگری میترا قائنی; born 1975 in Oslo, Norway) is a Faroese poet, actress and school teacher. Work Gaïni has published four collections of poems, written in Faroese. She represents the younger generation of female poets. In 2004 she won the Faroese Literature Prize in the category ''Fiction'' for her poem collection "2002 nætur" ("2002 Nights"). Four of her poems have been chosen for Faroese textbooks ''Les 2'' and ''Les 3'' (''Read 2'' and ''Read 3'') used for teaching in the Faroese language in public schools. In 2011 she received two months' wages, Starvsløn, from the Faroese government through the foundation Mentanargrunnurin. There were 98 Faroese artists who applied in 2011; 26 people got 1 to 4 months wage; five people got it from 6 months to one year. Tjóðveldi
Republic ( ), formerly known as the Republican Party () is a pro-independence left-wing political party in the Faroe Islands. History The party was founded in 1948 as a reaction to the islands failing to gain independence despite the outcome of the 1946 independence referendum, after which independence was subsequently declared but annulled by the Danish King. In 1998, Høgni Hoydal succeeded Heini O. Heinesen as party leader. During the 20 January 2004 legislative elections, the party won 21.7% of the popular vote and eight out of 33 seats. The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA) was a British drama school. It had two sites: ALRA South on Wandsworth Common in south London and ALRA North in Wigan, Greater Manchester. It was founded in 1979 by director and actors Sorrel Carson and Caryll Ziegler who then directed the school as its principal until 2001. ALRA was a member of Federation of Drama Schools an iteration of the formerly known as Drama UK, and before that the Conference of Drama Schools, and National Council for Drama Training, both organizations since dissolved, and received funding from the Young People's Learning Agency.
