Shottas
''Shottas'' is a 2002 Jamaican crime film about two young men who participate in organized crime in Kingston and Miami. It stars Ky-Mani Marley, Spragga Benz, Paul Campbell and Louie Rankin and was written, produced and directed by Cess Silvera. Despite its low budget, the distribution of an unfinished bootleg made it a cult favourite long before its official limited release in the United States by Triumph Films and Destination Films in 2006. Plot Biggs (Errol) ( Ky-Mani Marley) and Wayne (Spragga Benz), are two young men who grow up together in the tough and dangerous streets of Kingston. They rob a soda truck and shoot the truck driver while they are still children. The robbery money is used to purchase visas to go the United States, where they continue their criminal activities, hustling on the streets of Miami. Nel Ust Wyclef Jean ( ; born October 17, 1969) is a Haitian rapper, singer, and record producer. Born in Haiti, Jean emigrated to the Northeastern United States, United States as a child. Spragga Benz
Carlton Errington Grant (born 30 May 1969), better known as Spragga Benz, is a Jamaican dancehall deejay. Career He began his career around 1991. He was once known to his friends as "Spaghetti" (tall and slim), but this was later shortened to Spragga. The Benz in his name comes from the sound system for which he used to work for, L.A. Benz, and it is through this that he found his way into the music industry at a dubplate recording session with Buju Banton. The famed elder DJ was slated to do four tracks for L.A. Benz but only voiced two and suggested that Spragga do the other two. Since he was new to recording, he freestyled a couple of lines of what would then become, "Love Mi Gun", a popular tune. Ky-Mani Ronald Marley (born 26 February 1976) is a Jamaican reggae musician. In 2001, he received a Grammy nomination for his album '' Many More Roads''. He is the only child of the late reggae musician Bob Marley and Anita Belnavis, a Jamaican table tennis champion. He is one of Bob Marley's 11 children. Louie Rankin
Leonard Ford (b. 1953 – 30 September 2019), known professionally as Louie Rankin, was a Jamaican dancehall reggae artist and actor. Life and career Leonard Ford was born in Saint Thomas Parish, Jamaica and grew up in Rockfort and East Kingston. His most successful song was the single "Typewriter", released in 1992. In his lyrics, Rankin often referred to himself as the "Original Don Dada," a term used by many of his dancehall competitors, such as Super Cat. Delroy Thompson (born 19 November 1965), better known by his stage name Pinchers, is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist. Career He released his first album as a teenager in Jamaica for Blue Trac Records, before briefly moving to the UK in 1985. Pinchers made his first hits in 1986 with "Borrow No Gun", which he released through King Jammy, "Abrakabra", "Eat Man", and "Jailhouse Hot". Pinchers gained fame with the single "Agony", from the album of the same name produced by King Jammy.
